Not-So Friendly Skies

Description
This Mod uses Meridius IX's MES framework and the Plane Parts mods to both bring a challenge to players and add liveliness to worlds.

Some notable features are:

Airbases and Protected Installations

As of right now, there are two different grids that can be encountered on planets. These grids, while relatively passive looking, will have fighters (and sometimes bombers) protecting them, making them both dangerous and a priority target.

Air Traffic

Players will notice that planes will frequently pass overhead them. planes have randomized colors and will not interfere with you, purely adding a pretty view to your world (with the exceptions with a few things that go bump in the night).

Details on Each Plane (Spoilers!)

Buildings

Airfield

Airfields are, well, airfields...

They are capable of spawning both Type 64 Fighters and Type 44 Bombers. Additionally, they have an attack range of 10km making them extremely dangerous

Additionally, there are four AA turrets along the runway, making it dangerous to enter without preperation. Also, it hasa "hidden" turret in each hangar.

However, if one were to capture the airfield intact, they would get a fully functional base.

Munitions Plant

The Munitions Depot is a fortified factory. Anything that comes within a 2km range will be attacked by Type 64 Fighters. Additionally, there is a heavy AA turret defending the factory.

Inside, there is 10k explosives, 10 magazines, and tools for those who capture it.

Before going in, make sure to take out the turret hidden directly left of the space between the entryway and the factory.

Aircraft

Commercial Plane

It does nothing and there is little reason to capture one. It has no cargo and is nonhostile

Type 64 Fighter

The Type 64 fighter is a very fast and agile fighter. additionally, because of its use of the Raider Drone AI, it has no self preservation, causing it to often ram ground targets.

It has an armament of 3 gatling guns and a ventral gatling turret.

Type 44 Light Bomber

The Type 44 is a more sluggish craft than the type 64. It's main strength is being a threat to bases, having a bottom mounted missile turret and a stockpile of missiles. while it is fighter chow, it is a nightmare for buildings and vehicles.

Type 71 Attack Drone
The Type 71 Drone does not spawn from buildings. Instead, it will spawn exclusively at night (without a beacon). While it has a weak airframe and only two shots form its missile turret, it uses the cover of night to quickly attack bases and vehicles.

It is not really good at being a fighter or bomber, its just a sort of a "vibe check"

I'll continue looking for anything out of the ordinary, but so far it is a fun little npc faction to add pain in the game. Look forward to seeing possibly more enemy types (aircraft carrier of sort with water mod? lol)

If I am correct about the Documentation, the bases should only spawn on land. I also have noticed issues with the turrets on worlds with high mod counts. I have a feeling this is a strange keen bug.

Have noticed one thing: NPC grids with those custom turrets never seem to track or fire at hostiles near them. Besides the things in the hangars, the base is easy to take over

This will make a fine addition to my suffering. If one is using the water mod (blessing of a mod), what is the chance that one of these structures will spawn under the waves? Also will we be seeing more types of aircraft in the future?
