Last August 11, 2020, one of my closest grandfather died. Few days before his death, I still managed to talk to him through video call. I learned that his condition was declining because for 3 weeks, he was not able to have his dialysis because he needed several blood transfusion. It was hard for the whole family because when I saw him for the last time, I told my cousin that he may not live that long. After seeing my grandfather like one of my patients when I was still a nurse, I discussed to them what might and/or will happen and asked them to accompany him during his final hours.

I was animating different wallpapers over the past week, to avert my attention from his death. During his wake, I asked my cousins if they wanted a custom wallpaper. One of them told me that she wanted a picture of Haku from Spirited Away. I rewatched the whole film, and hoped to find a wallpaper that could portray my favorite soundtrack from the film. I then saw Asur-Misoa's illustration of Haku and Chihiro, which fits the parting feeling that I felt with my grandfather.

I really wanted to make her illustration as a wallpaper but the only available format is in portrait. So I researched on youtube on how to draw clouds and practiced using the Huion tablet that I bought a year ago, thinking that I might be able to learn digital art. I used Medibang app, Adobe Photoshop CS6, Paint, and lots of videos on youtube and patience to create a landscape. Here is the result. I hope you enjoy.
