Bermuda Triangle++

Description
Overview
The Bermuda Triangle is a fun Natural Wonder, but most of the time you can't actually work the tiles, and on the rare occasion that it is within range of your cities, the Science just feels broken.

Bermuda Triangle++ rebalances the spawning behavior and yields of the Bermuda Triangle so your cities can actually work it without the yields being ridiculously OP!

Bermuda Triangle
  • Now spawns in Coast tiles, not deep Ocean. This means that when it spawns, it will nearly always be workable!

  • Now provides +1 Science, +1 Food, and +1 Gold to adjacent tiles, instead of +5 Science to adjacent tiles.

  • Grants units an additional ability (Lost at Sea) which will allow them to enter Ocean tiles before Cartography. This is necessary for units to be allowed to teleport in the early game.

DLC
Requires the Gran Colombia + Maya DLC

Compatibility
Fully compatible with Terra Mirabilis

Hi p0kiehl,
your mod has been translated by ASM590319 into German and the translation is now part of the German translations for Civilization VI mods mod pack.
We would be more than happy if you could refer to the language translation in your mod description.

1. Good to know 2. Good to know and i like the say it keeps the ocean coloring, makes it look like a stormy tile, too bad it doesnt have like dark grey clouds and lightning hovering above it. lol 3. Cool, i guess i didn't realize fact wonders don't keep their tile's base yields (because well, the tiles normally are nothing like their base tile in appearance, but explains why you can't get extra Marsh yields from the pantheon Lady of the Reeds for the 2 marsh natural wonders (sadly), though it's curious some of the 'lake in appearance' wonders get extra buffs from like C.S. and buildings that fuck coasts, since the base titles are totally replaced. Thanks for clearing that up! :)

It cannot spawn on Reefs or Resources by default.

It does not turn the coast tiles into Ocean tiles. That's just the wonder's model. The wonder's model cannot be changed because we don't have access to the assets for it. I think it looks good anyway and isn't confusing.

It does not have the base yields of the Coast tile beneath it. No wonder keeps the yields of the terrain. The yields are purely from the wonder. The yields are appropriately displayed in the screenshot above.

Suggest: I like that you allowed it to spawn on Coast Tiles, but could you make sure it doesn't spawn on Reefs (for theme reasons) and i assume if it spawns on Resources they are destroyed or it just avoids them, because if possible it should get more bonuses on the 3 tiles it spawns besides its' own bonus yields and the natural ocean yields. Question: So it just turns coastal tiles it spawns on into ocean tiles? (Your pictures def keep the dark blue color of the water on the 3 tiles it spawns on even when next to land, or is it just a visual thing and that still counts as coast for yields sake?) Because it seems for yields it's ocean tiles, 2food, 2gold, 2sci, but if it is ocean it would be 3 food btw, for the double adjaceny plus the 1food for being ocean or 1food/1gold if it was coast which doesn't represent that in your second pic. (So based on your mod, you didn't seem to get the yields on the main 3 tiles right or something.)

Cool story..

@Arcadian - No I do realise, I enjoy either seeing me get that killer start if I get a city built to use it or the challenge that comes from an AI have an amazing start from getting it instead. Either way those games are fun because of the extreme outcomes that can occur. I have lost count in my 2000+ hours of play the number of games that are boring after a while, its why I run 100+ mods in my Civ 6 games these days.

@Darkchib You probably don't realize how OP it would be for the Civ that gets it, since some of the tiles would get +10 science because of double adjacency(I don't get why Firaxis allows this for NWs). With this mod you can also work all those tiles and not just one or two of them. The current bonuses makes it more like a top tier vanilla NW.
