I wanted to mass-download my favorite game characters but this workshop of yours is unintuitive and slow to download.

Now I know why the game is almost dead despite looking surprisingly promising on the surface.

This was always an anti consumer decision that probably killed the game, but now with the hindsight of what happened to Garry's Mod featuring "copywritten content" and getting DMCA'd to shit, was this actually a better move?

Either way still doesn't excuse how fucking terrible the in game search and creation is

I was excited to see the workshop tab. Then I came here.

I don't know, frankly having seen what happened to gary's mod i'm kind of glad that they are hiding the workshop.

it still depresses me this game took this route, steam workshop has been crafted over like 10 years to be as easy as feature rich and easy to use.

heres what i gathered about the pros and cons
pros:
- multi platform

cons:
- no longer updated
- often confusing
- half functional searching
- hides available content until after purchase
- slower downloads
- no user feedback

I hate they said "privacy" and "convenience" as if you want privacy on the steam workshop, set your item to friends-only or hidden. If you want convenience, steam workshop is FAR more convenient!

and to nitpick, for the image to say "rapidly-growing" is also a complete lie since the game has been dead for 2 years.

and for a complete different nitpick, adding remote play was stupid as the game has no controller support, so everyone has to take control of your mouse and wait their turn to move it, its really lazy and difficult. To say it has any coop capabilities (remote play implies coop) is a lie.

Your decision to do this probably killed the game. The way to make new characters is confusing and abysmal. If you cleaned up the interface and made things much more clear to understand, it might be fine. But the way everything is done with the search is unreliable, and terms often have double meanings. If I look for status effects, I don't find "decreased armor" or whatever the value you guys use for that. On top of that, creating a custom character is practically impossible since all the values keep shifting when you try to adjust another one. I understand this is probably an attempt to keep game balance, but unfortunately it just makes character creation a fight. Instead of making it easy to grab an awesome character that might be overpowered to make appropriate adjustments, you need to learn all the terms, figure out how they set it up, bla bla bla not worth the trouble. I shouldn't need to spend 6 hours fixing a Goblin Slayer character. I want to slay goblins.

In response to the comment by Lord Haard. Yes the 'idea' is fine. Here is the problem. they say there are 10,000+ items and growing, yet there is no search system implemented to separate anything other than popularity, name (if you even know what to type in), and most recent. Even something as simple as filtering by class type would be useful. Instead the game vomits 10,000 downloadable into a search result and good luck finding what you want. I excused this 2 years ago assuming they devs would come back and ad this, but i guess i was wrong to assume they wanted to make this game better.

It's a very good idea, in-game addies, and here's why.....

Advantages of In-Game Add-ons in Popup Dungeon:

Seamless Integration: In-game add-ons seamlessly integrate within the game's framework, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted user experience. Unlike external platforms like Steam Workshop, in-game add-ons eliminate the need for players to navigate away from the game, enhancing accessibility and convenience.

Enhanced Customization: The in-game add-on functionality in Popup Dungeon empowers users to create and modify intricate gameplay elements, including characters, items, and environments, with a greater degree of customization and creative control. This direct and integrated approach fosters a more immersive and tailored gaming experience.
