Description
Keelback small vessel miner

A small miner for use with a Cv, i use this as a way to mine out deposits in atmosphere . its small and fits easily into most capitals.

Unlock level 20

18.8k harvest cargo

6 mining lasers

If you like the look of it or even better, have a chance to use it and like it then a thumbs up would be awesome.

Also just double checked and CPU is just under the limit so that's not a problem.

I don't know why everyone saying not feasible. Maybe whatever was broken then is fixed now.

Tested in vanilla for planetary mining:
+ Dug deep quickly and easily. Flew back out at 50%+ of capacity in 4G.
+ Compact - easily fits into a small CV
- No spotlights - for me these are essential on a miner. Easily fixed.
- I had some bouncing around out of the hole. Not sure why.

Unfortunately not really a feasible build anymore. I don't know what the game was like 2 years ago(the usual problem with early release/indie developed games) but using 5 small generators and an excess of large thrusters is pretty inefficient, and it no longer has the CPU or generator power to run the lasers(at least in RE). Tried using it in a MP server yesterday and it might as well be rigged to self destruct on use.

i will be sure to pass on your request to my mother @canveriven . in the mean time i suggest you look at the date this build was submitted to the workshop and imagine all the changes that can happen to a game in over a year. if the generators are insufficient then it will be a nice little project for you to add some more.

You cannot put a salvage turret on an sv in vanilla empyrion.
I am assuming that's what you mean by scrapper

This is a super great design, works like a champ. I think it it best for space. I added lights, but a lot of times lights can make it harder to see what you are mining

The other sister item you need to add to this is a sv scrapper. Then when you are searching space and find something, you can pick which unit to take out. I'm not sure if you could have both on the same unit?

lol i have 7 of these docked in my battlestar galactica for large scale mining op's while under the defensive dome of my battlestar's auto defence's settings
