Pocket Music Player

Description
Description

Pocket music player is a simple way to listen to your favorite music wherever you are! Waiting for your friends to finish making loadouts in virtual arsenal? Just play some music and mellow out. Wanting to assault enemy position via chopper in style? Attach music player to your vehicle and play a little bit of sweet 60's rock. If you don't have any particular song on your mind just hit Shuffle and let the game choose for you!

Usage

In order to use Pocket Music Player you need to have it in your inventory, this can be done by either giving it to your soldier in virtual arsenal (Pocket Music Player can be found in miscellaneous items section) or by spawning the item using commands, the item classname is: HubixPocketMusicPlayer

To actually place Pocket Music Player you need to use ACE self interaction menu and select option Place Music Player
Doing this will spawn the Pocket Music Player in front of you and remove it from your inventory, You can always take the player back into your inventory by using using ACE interaction menu on the music player and choosing option Take Music Player

To play a song simply use ACE interaction menu on the spawned music player, choose option play a song
and then choose the song that you want to play.

Shuffle option will indefinitely play random songs one after another, Shuffle option won't work without any song extension loaded.

Also if you need to relocate the music player you can do this by using ACE interaction menu on the music player and choosing either Carry or Drag option.

Music player can be attached to players and vehicles for situations when you need to have both of your hands free but still want to listen on the move. In order to do that use ACE interaction menu on the music player and choose either Attach to yourself or Attach to nearest vehicle options.
To detach music player from yourself or vehicle simply choose Detach from object option.

Adding your own songs

I've made a tool which will create you an extension for Pocket Music Player with your own songs!
You can download it here [github.com] and find usage instrucion here [github.com]

An example extension created using the tool above can be found here.

Compatible mods
Arma radio - Great addon which lets you listen to internet radios, loading it with Pocket Music Player will let you listen to internet radios from Pocket Music Player via FM Radio option.

Requirements

ACE3 - Provides interaction framework
CBA_A3 - Provides base classes for misc. item creation, also required by ACE

Known Issues
- While moving at fast speeds (flying a helicopter for ex.) songs pitch gets slightly changed.

Unfortunately there's none, you can turn down the max volume in the extension creator but in game the only way to turn down player audio is to turn down game effects volume, which is quite unsatisfactory but it is how it is.

Okay cool,
Last question, 😂
Is there a way to turn the volume down on the pocket music player?

Cheers

Hmm, I think the best option would be to split the songs into multiple mods. You can just copy 29 songs to the songs folder of the tool then create extension. After doing that clear the songs folder, and copy over next 29 songs and just name the second mod differently, append "part 2" to its name or whatever you prefer and try doing it like that.

Just a thought, wonder if it would work to use another full music extension creator and all folders and try create another mod that way without it clashing?
Boffin 1 Sep @ 11:35am
yeah used the tool included, so ive worked out, after starting from scratch multiple times, for me personally, i can only put a folder of 29 songs max to avoid this, (there was 96 when i kept getting this message)

my only question now is if i wanted to create another mod folder with more songs, how would i go about it without having more than 29 songs in the songs folder, create another songs folder maybe?

Hmm, looks like a malformed configuration file in the mod. Did you create your own extension using the tool or download one off of steam workshop?

Nice one, got it all working

Having an issue once trying to launch game with a custom playlist as a mod,

“File armusic1\config.cpp, line 30: /CfgSounds/: '4 encountered instead of '{'”

Absolutely no idea how to go about this?

@Boffin
Yeah this works in solo, I think it should also work in campaign missions if you manage to get radio item via virtual arsenal or spawn it with cheat console

Will this work in solo scenario and campaign missions etc?
