This mod adds villages near Stalingrad and limits the front line along Stalingrad

The Battle of Stalingrad was one of the most important general battles of the Second World War and the Great Patriotic War between the Red Army and the Wehrmacht with the support of the armies of the Axis countries, which ended with the victory of the Armed Forces of the USSR.

The battle took place from July 17, 1942 to February 2, 1943 on the territory of modern Voronezh, Rostov, Volgograd regions and the Republic of Kalmykia.

The offensive of the troops of Nazi Germany and its allies lasted from July 17 to November 18, 1942, its goal was to capture the big bend of the Don, the Volgodonsk isthmus and Stalingrad. The implementation of this plan would block transport links between the central regions of the USSR and the Caucasus

In July—November 1942, the Red Army managed to force the enemy to get bogged down in defensive battles, and until February 1943 — to surround a group of Nazi invaders as a result of Operation Uranus, to repel the unblocking German strike "Wintergewitter" and squeeze the encirclement ring to the ruins of Stalingrad. The encircled group capitulated on February 2, 1943, including Field Marshal Friedrich Paulus and 24 other Wehrmacht generals.

This victory of the Red Army, after a series of defeats in 1941-1942, marked the beginning of a "radical turning point" not only in the Great Patriotic War, but also in the entire Second World War.
