Description
Xebecs were similar to galleys used by Algerian corsairs and Barbary pirates having both lateen sails and oars for propulsion. Early xebecs had two masts; later ones three. Xebecs featured a distinctive hull with pronounced overhanging bow and stern and rarely displaced more than 200 tons, making them slightly smaller and with slightly fewer guns than frigates of the period.
Used in the same calm waters in which galleys are popular, the Xebec is actually an evolution of a galley hull, modified to be more maneuverable. The light construction of the ship, however, makes it vulnerable to attack.
These vessels were used mainly in the Mediterranean sea by several countries: Spain, France, Ottomans, Russia and by many corsairs and pirates.



HOW TO SAIL:
  • You must put the sail in the correct position relative to the wind to sail, as shown in the gifs below:







  • The sail is controlled from the steering wheel.

  • If you want to learn more about sailing ship controlling I recommend visiting Wikipedia.


  • 40% wind is sufficient for full speed.

  • Like a real ship, this vessel has a high speed when it goes steeply to the wind, not when the wind blows from behind.

  • You can fold the sails. Attention: the vessel has a tendency to capsize with the sails folded.

Don't spawn this in in the current update, it will destroy your game, had all my saves and settings deleted. This is not the modders fault, it's just because of the update.

whats the best sail shape? been trying to make a trade and exploration sail ship. Got the shape and everything down, the only issue is literally getting good sail shapes that emphasize sail capability

Hello, i'm fascinated by how this boat actually sails. how did you make the sails work? I have done some tests myself but never had the success you have here with this wonderful boat.
