Welcome to Silk Road, a chaotic strategy game spanning two variants of Chess!

Silk Road is a variant of Bughouse involving both a Western and Chinese Chess board.

It is played in teams of two, with each teammate playing on the same side of the table, one on the East board and one on the West board. Pieces captured on one board are flipped over and passed to the other, allowing your teammate to use their turn to place it down. On the East board, pieces may only be placed on your side of the river.

There are 11 different kinds of pieces between the two boards, and their functions are found in the description of each piece. Aside from a few exceptions on the board that is not its own, each piece acts identically as in the classic versions of both games. Please read the descriptions of each piece to see where behavior changes.

The game ends when one player is checkmated, and red is to play first.
