How is it a hot take? Why do people feel so compelled to defend US healthcare? It's a terrible system and we have it far worse than the majority of countries whose defense budget's we are paying.

We have a navy 10 times the size of the rest of the worlds' combined and yet a serious illness or even having a baby with the wrong coverage can leave an average family financially ruined. Something is wrong with that picture.
