depends on what units you use. Its a hard battle

This map sucks, there's no challenge in defending it, and if you attack you can't win.

You drag you faction on to the other side to become attacker. The right hand side is defender. The left hand side is attacker. When you set your custom battle.

How is it that one plays as the attacker when it is not possible to choose that in naval battles?

You can attack the port. Like on the 4th picture.
