Nice challenge, however this 50 meat thing was a bit annoying.

Needed 4 trials for the last challenge:

1st try: saved around 650 meds and semiconductors
2nd try: saved 850 meds and semiconductors
3rd try saved all meds, but was 15 semiconductors short
4th try made it just in the middle of the day 27 :)

It's winnable. I played it through after creation so ya know. Ramp up efficiency is super critical, but I beat it with like a day to spare if I recall. Most of my challenges require efficiency of execution. Any second guessing and modification to approach probably yields an L. Carrier AI dominates, control their behavior or their sometimes idiocy will sink you.

OK I give up. Challenge 4 is beyond me. No matter what I do the materials decay. I clearly suck. Anyone got any ideas?

I go 4 drill bots to guarantee ore then start spamming carriers. Best I've reached while also trying to power and supply the base is 23 carriers.

@base invaders - you don't actually need biologists to grow the meat. Once you make the meat machine it will produce 1 meat before it fails from lack of maintenance. So just keep an eye on your lab, and as soon as a machine makes a meat, recycle it and build a new one.

#3 is designed to make you fall into a crack. stockpiling 50 meat means I need to build a starport (landing pads disabled) in order to get biologist. Starports drain power like black holes. I am supposed to fail because I don't have enough power to power the starport to get biologists to maintain the syntesizers. Also keeping my welfare high enough for getting colonist ships for biologists is a challenge. It is also hard because I need my biologists to produce meat faster than it is consumed for meals.

@harbqll Maybe you've already cracked #4. If not, some wise power management might help direct your bots better. An everything-stays-on approach definitely can run you into some woe.

#4 is proving to be a tough nut to crack. I can get things moving fast enough with only 20 carrier bots. The problem I keep running into is metal production. With 3 mine bots I can produce more than enough ore; the problem is it just sits there outside while my ore processors are empty and idle. The carrier bots won't bring in ore if there's any available storage space to fill. Which means I build a storage unit, then pretty much all base operations grind to a halt while bots fill the storage unit, then most of my bots are idle while ore and starch are (finally!) brought in for processing.

Its a fun challenge! But infuriating...
