Found a bug. Burning Fumes only hits one enemy but the animation applies to the rest for zero damage.

This mod looks really promising, and if the cards actually did what they said i think i would already really enjoy it. Unfortunately, almost none of them do! Burning Fumes only seems to do damage to the closest enemy and does not increase its damage on upgrade. Ease heals two hp on upgrade *in addition* to reducing its cost. And so on... i also think cards that make you skip your turn are almost never going to be useful and should be changed. I hope you decide to fix this mod; it seems so cool in concept!

Mod doesn't stay enabled when I quit/restart the game - I keep having to go to the mod list in-game and enabling it? Maybe it's just me :shrug:

@Mr. Gaytes
Thanks so much for playing the mod and thank you for the kind words! I am glad you enjoyed your experience playing with the mod enabled! It is great to hear you have been enjoying the different combos and strategies too! We would love to hear any more feed back you have in the future!
Thanks again!

I strongly oppose emesserli's hottake on balancing your mods against other mods. Slay the Spire is NOT a game where card power always exist in a vacuum- seemingly weak cards/relics can combine and synergize in ways that can make runs interesting or fun. Balancing your mod around the work of others seems like a pretty good way of derailing your own work and too many compilation mods fall into this design trap.

So far- I chose to disable most mods to let Retaliation breathe and sometimes less is more. Thorns is alot of fun to play with and the new cards help play well with the Ironclad's strengths (ex. stacking block). I believe this approach is healthy.

I get that if you only have vanilla and this you have a better chance of seing cards that synergize well. Its just that if you dilute the pool these synergies become rarer and rarer (For example I have never seen the double thorns or the thorns shot in any run where I had any thorns to begin with). Your mod is far from the only one to have this problem though, for example a ton of mods add cards for the Silent that rely on specific combos that you just don't get with multiple mods installed.

@emesserli
First, thanks so much for playing and taking the time to leave feedback!

So our design philosophy for this expansion was intended to add cards to just the base class.
While our mod should be compatible with most other expansion mods, it was never balanced or tested around that. So unfortunately while the power balance between this expansion mod and vanilla might be fine, it could very well be weak compared to other mods. :steamsad:

Playing this mod with a lot of other mods that also add cards makes most of these cards pretty much dead as they have 0 of the needed synergy. Consider making them more viable as standalone picks.

Ease (1hp for exhaust) seems utterly broken as you heal to full in nearly every fight if you build it right (then again you tend to get oneshot if attempting to do so).

Burning Fumes sometimes starts dealing 0 damage.

@Turtle
It is NOT supposed to scale w/ STR, thanks for the find! We fixed and are pushing it soon. Thank you again for the find on this and playing the mod <3

Is it intended for Burning Fumes (the deal 3 (5) damage to all enemies when a card exhausts) to scale with Strength?
