Description
Burlington Route

The California Zephyr was operated by the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad, Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad, and Western Pacific Railroad between Chicago and Oakland via Omaha, Denver, and Salt Lake City. Amid much fanfare and publicity, the California Zephyr was inaugurated on March 20, 1949. It was discontinued in March 1970.

This train is modeled after the EMD F3 series of locomotives (the only F units the Burlington Route used for passenger trains). The passenger train is modeled after the consist as it existed when introduced in 1949. Each car has a unique name accurate to what was actually run on the consist.

How to Use

Train functions as a regular passenger train but due to its length some additional consideration might be needed when setting up passenger stations for it. Consult the "How to use very long passenger trains, building station complex" by REV0

Nice to see this one! It stops in the town I live in once per day. Well, the middle of the night. 😉
