Oryx-Class Freight Cruiser

Description
The "Oryx" class freight-cruiser represents the Sullivan Industrial Solution's answer for a cargo hauler that can defend itself and ensure safe transportation of goods. The Oryx is intended to operate solo in remote regions of space and put up a fight when necessary. While the vessel is expensive and lacks the overall cargo capacity of other SIS freighters, its ability to hold its own against pirates makes it a popular choice among captains, businessmen and smugglers alike. When navies need to send valuable freight outside of traditional shipping lanes where escorts are limited, the Oryx is depended upon by various cargo carriers, logistical firms and governments to get the job done.

I was greatly surprised by how well this ship handles motion. Weapon placements made well with heavier weapons. Used this more for a Support Battleship in a group of combat vessels. Founded 3 of these and only lost 1. Depending on difficulty and enemy, this beast hands solo well. Would not recommend using solo though. No modifications needed other then upgrading blocks to higher tier. All in all 8/10.

Looks amazing, the fighter bays are functional but the fighters struggle to get back inside.

Dude, this works in Avorion 2.0 and I love it! It looks so awesome! Please make even bigger version but extended the middle section :)

Thank you for the comments. I wasn't familiar with SDK's refinery bay mod but looked it up just now - very interesting. I may just have to look in to that!

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, much of the interior components are just patchwork. I typically don't put too much time into fine-tuning those details since realistically most folks will probably modify the ship's performance and abilities to their preferences. It has been awhile since I played much Avorion and I did notice that smaller cargo blocks don't seem as efficient anymore.

Since this ship's primary role isn't a warship, I wasn't going to even give it torpedoes at first. But went ahead and put in a few tubes since it is intended to often fly solo. It's that debate between "what would a freight hauler realistically be armed with" and "what do must Avorion players find convenient on their ship". Totally right about the integrity field generators. I meant to install more smaller framework blocks to use as IFGs but got lazy after spending a month or so on the ship and converted a few larger blocks. :D

Very nice model I tried to make the model slightly better.

I don't know wether I messed up some design details.
I know, no model is perfect by anyone but here I tried.

-cargo and torpedo storage was not ideal
-integrity field generators were oversized
