Also, make sure the brakes are fully released. It takes a while for the brake cylinders to charge up. Additionally, are you getting amps out of the locomotive? It should be well able to haul those 15 cars up the grade.

Did the engine rev down?
If so, it might be overheated. Ensure that the Fan#1 and Fan#2 switches are on.

Other possible solutions
-Selector (top lever on control stand) is in '1'
-Engine Run, Generator Field, and Fuel Pump switches on control stand are on
-Isolation Switch is set to 'Run'
-Circuit Breakers (in Electrical Cabinet) are flipped up
-Fuses are not blown (see Manual)

Great idea! However instructions were rather quick. Got the loco going but after getting through the tunnel it gradually slowed down and stopped although on Notch 8. Have I missed something?
