Psychiatric Hospital: Mike's Story "Chapter 1"

My name is Mike Connor, yesterday I turned 56 years old, I teach chemistry at New York University. We recently spoke with my friend Tom Oliver about the 1986 incident. I am still concerned about this story, but Tom suggested that I write everything on paper, which I am doing now. I don’t know, maybe someone will find these notes, or maybe they will gather dust in the attic.

"WAIST-DEEP IN WATER"
The story began in mid-April 1986, when I got a job in a psychiatric hospital No. 173. There is nothing to be done, because then I was making ends meet. A couple of days before starting work at the bar, I met Tom. He said that his life was not sugar and that he worked as a loader, but he was recently fired. I wanted to help him because he is my best friend, so I suggested he work with me. He agreed. When the shift began, I fell asleep somewhere around 12:58 AM. I don’t know what happened during sleep, but when I woke up, Tom disappeared somewhere. When I just left the room, everything suddenly caught fire. In a panic, I ran to the dining room in the hope of finding an emergency exit there. Because of the panic, I completely forgot about Tom. Instead of an emergency exit, I fell into a flooded room, where everything was flooded with water ...
