Description

Plasma Cannons, Tiered.

[WeaponCore Required]

Plasma weapons fire pressure vessels filled with microwave heated hydrogen gas, the super-heated and charged plasma is released from the vessel when it shatters on contact with the target. This creates not only an explosion but, also, the positively charged plasma absorbs charge from shields thus damaging them faster.

The small caliber, general purpose plasma cannon from Parasol L.L.C. is designed to be the minimum viable cannon-type weapons system. Designed to be low-profile when compared with larger casemate mounted weaponry the "3-k-g" requires only minimum internal space within the ship. The full volume required by the gun is 3x3x3.


The medium caliber general purpose plasma cannon is the mainstay of most cruiser size vessels and capital ship secondary weapons. They are powerful offensive weapon with good rate of fire, and they retain a reasonably fast slew rate for taking on uncooperative targets. The “9-k-g” is the first choice for most large interplanetary vessels.


The large caliber general purpose plasma cannon is intended to supply the primary fighting power most capital ships. The size is convenient as it keeps the same base size as its younger brother the 9-k-g at 4x4x5 but packs a more devastating punch. The “12-k-g” is the king of the line of battle.


If the 12-k-g is the king of the battle line, then the XL caliber “24-k-g” must certainly be the queen. With a barrel ID of 400cm two full grown men can comfortably stand inside the barrel… one standing on the other shoulders. However, with a size of 5x5x5 it is so large that it equips only the largest military vessels. While the queen of the battle line may not be appropriate for every ship, any truly magnificent ship is incomplete without them.


Optimized for applications away from the support of supply chains these weapons make use of readily available materials, specifically water and iron. This makes the system Ideal for use in far flung operations such as prospecting or exploration that still require armed security.

If I may contribute my humble opinion, I think the barrel design could really benefit from a bit of aesthetical redesign. ;)

A casemate cannnon mod is just was I was desperately looking for!
But for the sake of balancing, what are the ranges of those guns? Would be great to add them in the list in the description. :)

These are cool but the model of the 24 kg cannon seems to still have an axle symbol in it's middle.
