The Phantom Assassin's weapons are never what they first appear to be with unique attributes hidden by the Veil. Mortred's Bladefan is no exception with its extendable fanblades hidden inside the main blade.



A weapon for Phantom Assassin and an entry into the Year of the Horse.

Sadly I can't animate the fanblades to fold inside/extend from the mainblade as that would require extra bones (which we aren't allowed to add as far as I am aware). Also, the fanblades are made from an alpha mask instead of separate polygons. If Valve has a "holy crap we need to animate this!" moment, I'll do my best to work with them to make it happen :)
