Novelty

Description
This mod will be replaced by the British 1820s Set

In October of 1829, the Rainhill trials were held at... Rainhill. Somewhat halfway between Liverpool and Manchester. These trails were to determine if steam traction should be used for the new railway.

The locomotive Novelty was constructed in a course of a few months by Messrs Ericcson and Braithwaite from London. The engine was based on already functioning steam buses and fire engines, and was of peculiar construction, thus the name

The engine was quite weak, and did not win in the trials (it came third) but it impressed the managers enough to order two more engines of a similar design, these eventually ran on the Runcorn and St. Helens Gap Railway.

The loco has been modelled to the best of my ability, including (somewhat) accurate animation. This loco is best used with other locomotives of the era, and with wagons found in my 'Stephenson's Locomotives (Inc. Rocket)' pack, and coal wagons found in 'Stourbridge Lion and Agenoria' mod.
