Description
SeaBoss Systems GOBLIN Mk.I Light Recon Plane

"GOBLIN... always on the lookout for trouble"

The newest addition to the aviation offerings from SeaBoss Systems (SBS) the GOBLIN is a light reconnaissance and exploration Diesel Pusher plane. Designed for loitering and endurance the GOBLIN is capable of ranges of ~300km on a one Medium tank (680L) when operating in a high efficiency configuration (Low Throttle, Max Prop Collective, Speed of ~52m/s). The top speed is 65 m/s but it comes at a cost of reduced range.

The GOBLIN is capable of extremely short take off and landing due to the introduction of new Presets Systems for Throttle and Prop Collective Values.
THROTTLE PRESETS: IDL (0%),LOW (20%),MED(40%), HGH(60%), MAX(100%)
To move through the throttle Presets press 1 to move up and 2 to move down. Using the arrow keys will allow you to also define throttle values beyond the presets.

PROP PRESETS: RVM(-100%), RVH(-50%), RVL(-20%) ,IDL(0%) ,LOW(20%) , MED(40%), HGH(60%) ,MAX(100%)
To move through the Prop Presets press 3 to move up and 4 to move down. Only the presets are allowed.

NOTE: Support of HOTAS Sticks and Gamepads has been implemented. There is a button in front of the pilot (SB Front Low) that when clicked will override the Throttle Presets system and send the value from the UP/DOWN Axis to the engines.

STOL take off is possible by loading the engine to THROTTLE MAX, waiting for the Prop Shaft to achieve 75 RPS before transitioning the Prop Collective Preset quickly from IDL to MAX. The result is extreme acceleration with quick take off. Short Landing is possible by quickly switching the Prop Presets to REV LOW, REV MED or REV HIGH on touchdown which will bring you to a quick stop. It is suggested that you use the Prop Collective for stopping rather then the brakes as the landing gear is a bit sensitive.

The GOBLIN does not have an APU but uses a HOTEL system which is activated using a button in the panel containing the Internal Light controls (Port Side Front). When the HOTEL system is turned on the GOBLIN will apply a rotor brake to the drive shaft and all engine power will be diverted to the generators. This is useful if you find that you are waiting on the ground for an extended period of time. To fast charge the batteries in HOTEL mode just increase the Throttle.

The GOBLIN is a two seater: Pilot and Observer. Each seat has it's own canopy controls as well as it's own Two Mode Radio (Single and Duplex options). The Observer has access to a Gimbal camera system which is also broadcast over a video channel defined by a keypad, moving MAP, Video Antenna Feed and Weather Report. Possible plans for a future RADAR.

GETTING IN TO THE AIR:
1. Open the canopy for the pilot and use the ladder to seat yourself in the cockpit.
2. Start the Diesel Engine using the ENG1 Monitor located Port Side Front. Click on the START button on the screen to start the engine.
3. Remove the Parking Brakes by clicking the brakes button located on the SB Side Front PANEL. The *PARK* symbol should disappear from the HUD.
4. For quick takeoff dial the Engine Throttle Preset up from IDL to MAX and wait for the Prop Shaft RPS to show 75 on the ENG1 Monitor.
5. Close the Canopy.
6. Hit the Throttle Preset UP till it reads MAX and hold on.
7. Pull back on the stick.
8. Fly!

I have come up with an idea for a MK2. instead of a total overhaul form this you could make it so you can add drop tanks. then make attachments for the drop tank slots. Such as cameras, long range radar, and signal boosters.

Thanks, MrPanther. Always appreciated. As for Med to Heavy... Possibly. :) I'm thinking of using the current control frame and adjusting it to accomadate a jet.. or two and expanding the size. Just need to find the time.

Imagine if this could dock to one of the Hermes aircraft.
