INTRO
Golding gears consists of using improvement scrolls and books to increase the gear's stats, until it reaches a gold value. This golden value denotes the maximum stat improvement a gear can reach. This process can be performed on armor and weapons alike. However, if we plan on leveling up our weapon, it is recommended to do so before beginning the gold process -- as leveling it up will replace its stats. Meaning we would have to gold it again ▸ Level up my weapon!

More ways to enhance gears...

Step 1: Identify stat color
Stat bonuses come in 4 colors - green, blue, orange and gold. Knowing which color our stat is helps us determine which type of improvement scroll we need. The scroll's color should always match that of our stat.

Gears purchased from NPC do not have any color, so we'll need to start with green scrolls. Crafting our own gear can produce blue stats, which would accelerate the golding process; as we could skip the green scrolls entirely.

Step 2: Purchase improvement scrolls
Improvement scrolls can be purchased from their corresponding merchants in each of the main cities, while books and tomes are from the cash shop.

Scrolls are easily accessible through the NPC and they cost gold. Due to their high failure rate, we recommend purchasing only green and blue scrolls from here. Books and tomes are available in the cash shop; note that some are not tradeable. Their success rate makes it worth the purchase -- especially the orange ones.

Armor upgrade merchant
This merchant carries two types of scrolls: "armor" which enhances physical defense and "magic" which enhances magical defense. Due to their high failure rate, we recommend purchasing only green and blue scrolls.

Armor upgrade cash shop
These books are sorted the same as the scrolls, whereas "armor improvement" is for defense and "magic improvement" is for magical defense. Overall, books have higher success rate and the orange ones have a special version with extra success. They can be found under "enchantment items" in the cash shop.

Weapon upgrade merchant
This merchant carries two types of scrolls: "weapon" which enhances physical attack and "magic" which enhances magical attack. Due to their high failure rate, we recommend purchasing only green and blue scrolls. Note that if an orange scroll fails, the weapon will disappear, completely.

Weapon upgrade cash shop
These books are sorted the same as the scrolls, whereas "weapon upgrade" is for attack and "magic upgrade" is for magical attack. Overall, books have higher success rate and the orange ones have a special version with extra success. They can be found under "enchantment items" in the cash shop.

Step 3: Use an improvement scroll
Once we're ready, open the inventory and click the scroll or book to prompt a popup window; add the weapon and click confirm. There are negative effects upon failure, but in the long run, it only means that we'll need to purchase more scrolls. The end results are the same. (Unless we failed a cheap orange scroll... then our weapon is long gone lol....)

After reaching certain thresholds, the stat color will change to the next tier. That is when we need to change scrolls for another color. After turning orange, a peak progress will be visible. This indicates how many more successful enchantments we need for the gear to become gold.
  • At peak 6/10, we should use an advanced book due to their increased success
  • At peak 9/10, use a tome with 100% success

Negative effects:
Nothing bad happens: -1 defense: -2 defense: Damage armor:

Nothing bad happens -1 attack -2 attack -3 attack Loss of the weapon <-- don't use

Weapon gold bonus
It's not necessary to gold both physical and magical attack to receive a good bonus on weapons. Most times, only one type will do. Golded weapons also have visual effects, like a golden glow, depending on which type of stats we increased. Below is a list of the bonuses we get, sorted by weapon type.
