You're playing as the partner from Chapter 1, though I had a bit more time to refine the look.
I had to come up with some solution to the fact that the protagonist from chapter 1 could die or live based on how you played. So this was the best I could think of, The Sergeant is a new character and the original protagonist is never seen in Chapter 2. It's more open ended, I suppose.

So the current protagonist is the previous protagonist's partner? ...Is the previous protagonist dead, or are they the Sergeant and they just survived in this timeline?
