Description
While retaining the same multifunction capability as the truegrit, the Grithammer is a true assault miner with hull shield, 3 rocket turrets, 2 minigun turrets and twice the gatling cannons. Its speed, ability to tunnel and concentration of firepower in a small area make it ideal for assaults on even the most fortified positions

In addition to the shield and heavier firepower it has more and stronger armour around the cockpit placed so that it can deflect shots without impeding visibility. Fuel tanks are deeper into the body and separate to prevent explosion chaining. It also has more generators spread throughout than the T2 version.

Built for personal use and XCAL's March challenge, it has:

At level 12 it provides the full range of support functions you can expect from a HV.

Mining

It is a stable miner when empty, half full or full of ore including the heaviest ore (gold). Due to being two blocks wider and one taller than truegrit you may occasionally need to wiggle the HV to mine upwards.

Drone release
To enter the clone chamber to release drone, ensure the HV is level first and jump in. Release drone from centre of clone chamber. You can also close the rear shutter door using drone so you have both shield and shutter to protect you. The drone release is primarily for scouting, but also for safely looting in irradiated zones or when there is a likelihood or more enemy soldiers or drones. You can also use it as a shielded firing platform.

Just the fridge mode

This is a special switch which turns off every things that can be switched off except the fridge and gives 26 hours of fridge operation. This is something I find useful even late game (when you may use a mining CV for most resources) as it means you can use it to keep food fresh even if away from your CV/base for an extended time without having to leave the CV/base on. I have lost food too many times. The 25 and a half hours is good for single player, but particularly useful for continuous playfields on multiplayer where everything keeps running, and using power, when you are offline. Come back a day later and all your food is still there.

Other switches

Most switches simply control the relevant parts, but two need a bit of explanation:
"OFFtoDIP" controls the front hover engine. Switch this off to drop the front of your ship considerably. This is primarily for ease of digging into terrain. Once you have started digging at the required angle you can switch it back on. Occasionally useful for shooting down hills or inclines
"OFFtoREAR" controls the rear hover engines. Switching this off allows you to point the HV at a much higher angle. This is never necessary for mining, but is very useful for shooting gatlings at drones or other high up targets. This mode works best when started from the full 3m hover and if travelling backwards point the nose down so you don't scrape the rear across the ground and tip. Strafing side to side or moving forward is fine.
