Vietnam Hamlets Map

Last of a series of 15 x 15 km maps that I created for variety and interesting tactical challenges suitable for the 1960s - 90s era of modern warfare.

This map is my personal favorite, though entirely fictional, I have had the best battles in this one of any map or scenario in the game, and perhaps any game. I envisioned this place in my head, then found real world elevation data that was sort of close, which I then tailored a bit, then created cover and features. There is a narrow pass surrounded by high ground on one side with a friendly hamlet to the rear, some open areas, some heavy jungle, many areas with various levels of deforestation and hamlets with some roads and jungle trails. I have found it is really fun to fight scenarios where you have to divide your forces between north and south objectives. For example, defend hamlet to west, then push forward to secure the pass while also trying to secure objectives to the south. Like the previous one, this map is designed for 1960s to early 70s SE Asia conflict, so I HIGHLY recommend downloading the "FACTIONS PLUS" mod on Steam workshop for the PAVN formations, units and weapons for this and the next map. The FACTIONS PLUS mod also has Aussie and ROKA units who participated if you are interested in an excursion. Enjoy!
