The Rolling Hills Map

Description
The third of five 15 x 15 km maps I've created for variety and interesting tactical challenges suitable for the 1960s - 90s era of modern warfare.

This is the only map in this series that does not use real world elevation data; I wanted to create a map inspired by the classic sort of mechanized infantry/armor battle envisioned during the institutionalization of the US Army Air/Land Battle doctrine (e.g. early/mid 1980s). There are rolling hills and broad plateaus where stand-off anti-armor weapons can be employed properly. The terrain is permissive in terms of mechanized force mobility, so numerous avenues of approach to consider/cover and multiple ways for armor to be employed in a flanking, isolation, or exploit role. There is adequate forest and vegetation to provide dismounted infantry lots of options for the close fight, with good line-of-sights. The hills roll hard in a few places, resulting in swales where it will be easy to lose sight of maneuvering forces.
