Description
This is a remake of my old North York Civic Centre asset with a new model and better textures. However this asset also reflects the building as it was when it opened in 1978. The original building design featured a stepped pyramid style structure as well as a different entrance location. The stepped design was soon replaced by the flat slant the building has today due to bad leaking issues in the rain and snow. The slant design was chosen to allow water and snow to simply slide down the building instead of pooling on the terraces of the original design. You can still see the original stepped structure inside the building as the renovated slant design was simply put over top the original architecture.

The building was designed by "Adamson Architects" and served as the City Hall for the City of North York until 1998 when North York was merged with Toronto. The building won the "Governor General's Medal for Architecture" in 1982.

Cost to Build: $50,000
Upkeep: $800
Size: 12x8

Comparison Photos for those who are interested in the changed design of the real world building:

Flooding problems caused the redesign: https://static.torontopubliclibrary.ca/da/images/LC/tspa_0107005f.jpg

Personally I much prefer the old design and think the current one does the building no justice and hides its true beauty. However I also understand why the changes were made.

I'd think upkeep would be higher with the original roof.
