AC/DC Highway To Hell Music Video Main Menu Video Replacement

Description
This will replace the main menu video you see in the background with AC/DC's Highway To Hell Music Video with the music.

The install and the mod in action videos are now up (SORRY PEOPLE OF GERMANY BUT YOUTUBE BLOCKED IT IN YOUR COUNTRY, IT WAS THE VIDEO OF THE MOD IN ACTION). The video mod is the full lenth video of highway to hell the youtube video is only a preview of the mod. As if i showed the full thing youtube might of banned it.

Ok ill try to make this as simple as possible, but if you have any questions please feel free to leave them in the comments below. This mod wont work just by having it in the addons folder please follow the steps below to make this mod work.

1: Click on subscribe then run L4D2 you will see a download bar at the bottom of the main menu let it finsh and exit L4D2.

2: Browse to this folder on your pc.
For Windows users who are using the 64 bit version of windows you can find the workshop folder at this location.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\addons\workshop

For users using the 32 bit version of windows the folder is located here.
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\addons\workshop
Look for the file named 197666714.vpk .

3: Download this tiny program called GCFScape and install it. Here is the link to the program.
GCFScape[www.nemesis.thewavelength.net]

4 Once you got the program installed run it. Then click on file then open a dialog box named open package will come up asking you what file to open. Browse to this location C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\addons\workshop or if you got 32 bit windows C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\addons\workshop once you get to the workshop folder look for the file named 197666714.vpk select it by clicking on it. It will now show up in the left side of GCFScape right click on the folder that says root and chose extract a dialog box will come up asking where you want to extract it to. click on desktop as this will be easier for people and then click on the button below that says make new folder name it to something you will remember what it is cause your going to be working from this folder.

5: Open the folder that you made on your desktop in step 4. Inside that folder you will see 2 files. One is named l4d2_background02.bik and the other file is named silences main menu music.vpk.
Now browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\media (For users of the 64 bit version of windows) or C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\media (For users of the 32 bit version of windows) and find the file named l4d2_background02.bik and rename it to l4d2_background02.bik.old (DO NOT DELETE THE ORIGINAL FILE INCASE YOU WANT TO GO BACK TO THE ORIGINAL BACKGROUND VIDEO)
If you don't see the extension .bik then in that same folder up top click on organize then click on folder and search options. When the folder options dialog comes up click on the view tab and uncheck the box next to hide extensions for known file types and click apply then click ok.

6: Now back in the folder on your desktop right click on l4d2_background02.bik and choose copy now bring up the L4D2 folder and make sure its still in the same location which is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\media or C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\media and then right click on an empty area in that folder and chose paste.

7: Now in that desktop folder right click on silences main menu music.vpk and choose copy and paste it in (if you got the 64 bit version of windows) C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\addons or (if you got the 32 bit of windows) paste it here C:\ProgramFiles\Steam\SteamApps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\addons

There you go when you run L4D2 again your new background video will play. If it does not play the first time try running it a few times as the background video that plays is picked at random by the game. Some times it only takes once some times the game needs to be runned 3 or 4 times for it to play but it will play.

Hope you enjoy and leave your comments below. If this proves to be popular i will make more from other bands.

Just using the vpk won't work you have to unpack the vpk file and then copy over the .bik file to your left for dead 2 folder over writing the original.

Worked for me. Make sure you follow the instructions to a t. And there is no need to get smart and cuss. Just state what you did just saying it don't work don't tell me how to help you fix it.
