The Hive (WIP)

Popis
A recreation of The Hive underground facility from the first Resident Evil (2002) film

Being built with Zombies mode in mind, but will be working on making it functional for TDM and Search and Destroy as well. Not sure how well it will work strategically for those game modes as its a fairly linear map but ill be attempting to work some multiple pathways into the different areas for better strategy

The map is still very WIP and incomplete BUT it does function with zombies mode. The TDM and DM spawns are all in the same starting area at the moment just for testing but I will be moving these around when I get a chance.

!!! Development on this map is paused for the time being while I wait for the new mod tools as well as find some free time to continue working on it. I still have plans for the utility tunnels and dog cage areas from the movie as well as possibly adding a lot more interactivity depending on what the new mod tools will allow without too much extra work. !!!

Utterly superb. I went into it expecting a mild experience and was completely blown away with the delicate attention to detail. I watched the Resident Evil film many times on DVD years ago, and actually being in the laser-grid sequence when I wasn't expecting it with* the track by Manson/Beltrami was simply mind-boggling. Well done, sir. :re2umbrella:

The map is damn near perfect! The amount of effort and polish so far is outstanding, without a doubt my favourite workshop map!
That said there is one issue I feel that makes a small but strong impact is the fact the laser only renders out the left eye with my Oculus Rift S (can't speak for other HMDs)
I can obviously my right eye and see it fine but if you dont do that i find it strains my eyes trying to focus on it... nothing else in VR has ever strained my eyes like that lol.

Again, not the end of the world and I still love the map, its like a 98% love it, the 2% is just the laser eye strain and i guess that hive entrance keyboard at the checkpoint near the train that is SUPER loud and doesnt seem to matter where in the map you are to hear it.

Keep up the good work and all the best with your other projects (workshop or otherwise)

@CaseFace5 This map is amazing! I do have a question though, is the only player spawn point downstairs by the Red Queen's chamber in Zombie mode? Would be dope to start on the train/platform instead so it's easier to get the first weapon crate after wave 1. This is already becoming one of my favorite maps.

a new idea will be that you can make some kind of mirroring in the laser chamber and as well som art for 3d models from the player they get scliced apart when the laser hits you (like in the movie)

i love this map and i want to politely ask that you port this to shack pavlov vr for quest so my friend who does not have a pc experience it we are big fans of the movie and the map
