Description
My second large ship. This one took a lot less time to make than the last, but I think it's at least as good.
(I still am just picking what I think sounds good for a ship classification; it's certainly not light enough to be "light" but I wouldn't quite call it "heavy.")

My goal was to make something relatively compact and comparatively agile that could handle itself in a fight while also being able to land on an Earth-like planet. I think I succeeded at all of those goals, more or less. All of the thrusters, engines, tanks, and other vital components are in the rear section, and there's almost no wasted space anywhere, though the downside is that the cabin is extremely tight compared to the openness of the Azure Harrier. It holds up surprisingly well in combat, or at least it does against the AI pirate ships I tested it against, taking only minor and easily reparable damage to the nose of the ship. And it's definitely capable of landing on and taking off from an Earth-like planet, assuming the hydrogen tanks are full; however, since it burns through hydrogen incredibly fast to stay aloft in 1 G gravity, I wouldn't recommend using it in atmosphere for extended periods of time. (The two large atmospheric thrusters I added to help it stay aloft in atmosphere, well... probably don't help all that much. But they help a little, and they look cool, so I'm keeping them.)

All in all, though, I'm quite happy with it, both in terms of how it works and how it looks. I kept to the same light gray/dark blue striped color scheme as before, since I think that looks good in general, but I added some ribbing to the outside and I am very glad I did.

Detailed specs:
  • mass: 3,739,554 kg
  • length approx. 77.5 meters (31 blocks)
  • width approx. 62.5 meters (25 blocks) at widest, 17.5 meters (7 blocks) at narrowest
  • total 2,944 blocks, 12,077 PCU
  • 10 large hydrogen thrusters (2 rear, 2 front, 1 each left/right, 4 bottom), 16 small (8 top, 8 bottom)
  • 6 large ion thrusters (2 rear, 2 bottom, 1 each left/right), 26 small (12 front, 6 bottom, 8 top)
  • 2 large atmospheric thrusters (to help a little in atmosphere, not strictly necessary)
  • 2 oxygen tanks (200 kL oxygen storage)
  • 4 hydrogen tanks (20 ML hydrogen storage)
  • 2 hydrogen engines
  • 4 O2/H2 generators
  • 1 large reactor, 2 batteries
  • 1 large cargo container and 2 small cargo containers (453,125 L cargo storage)
  • 8 Gatling turrets (4 on top, 2 on each side)
  • 3 missile turrets (all on top)
  • 2 fixed rocket launchers on front
  • 26 gyroscopes (yes, it's a lot, sorry)
  • 3 jump drives, maximum jump distance 2005 km
  • 1 refinery (blueprint contains 2 power efficiency modules and 2 speed modules, feel free to change them around if you like)
  • 1 assembler (no modules here though)
  • 1 antenna
  • 1 camera
  • 1 medical room
  • 1 gravity generator
  • 1 projector (set offsets to -3 horizontal, +1 vertical, +13 forward for repairs, because I couldn't get it to work with the default offsets)
  • 4 landing gear
  • 1 connector (on top)

When I was halfway through building it, and had nearly all the internals set up but not all the armor, the ship looked very cross-shaped, and that's where the name came from. It's not quite as cross-shaped now, but I still like the name.
