This guide is in progress!

Disclaimer: For now, this guide only includes the cat locations because I was able to find them after 1 play through. I don't have the yarns yet because they disappear after you find them, so I will need to start the game over and find them again and screen shot. If you get all the cats, you will get an achievement!

The controls of the game are used through keybindings. You may find them rather frustrating, so many people set their own to pan around. You must find every cat and every ball of yarn. They can be inside and under objects, in or on moving objects, blending in with the background, or literally just hanging out in plane sight.

The game offers a few hints to help you along the way. Cats will meow when you are close to them. This can be great when you're really struggling to find the locations. The meows are directional meaning if you listen with head phones, a meow coming from the right means you should move right to find the cat.

Clicking on the cat in the menu will also have the cat generate a thought bubble. The thought bubble shows a location hint. They are not literal. So for instance, if it show shows you a red house it means the cat is on or near a house, but maybe not a red one. Clicking on the yarn will do the same. If you click the numbers you'll get a text hint that just tells you how many are left, and the colour of the yarn.

You do not need to find every single cat and yarn to advance. But if you want the achievements, you'll need to.

If you search around the game has lots of funny easter eggs such as locations of objects, cat butts, and more!

Isle 1 is super easy and obvious for finding the cats. It's set up to basically teach you how to use the game. You can click on the cat for a hint to where the cats can be found. The cat will show a thought bubble with a hint.

Isle 2 is still pretty darn simple. You'll find all the cats and yarn without any help. Once you've found a cat it'll meow and display hearts. In this level you get a white cat on snow next to a light. This is hinting at how the cats in the future levels will be blending in with the background.

Isle 3 is the first time you're going to start interacting with objects and panning around to find the cats. In this screen shot I put little cat icons from a birds eye view. You'll find cats by opening the wooden crate (this is a common hiding spot for cats and yarn), opening a window (another common place) blending in on the roof with snow, and sitting on the front stoop. As you advance through the isles each one will tell you how many cats and yarn you will need to find.

Isle 4 is when things are going to start getting a little tricky. You will need to pan around and above the island from many different angles to find the cats. I have screen shot locations for you, and some overlap in order to show each cat location.

On the last rotation, you'll continue to see the cat locations with yellow highlights

Remember, the trick to finding the cats and yarn is to really try looking from different angles and perspectives.

Tip: If you have already found enough to pass to the next isle but haven't found them all, go ahead and pass for now. You can always come back before the final isle to any level you didn't totally finish and look at it with new eyes!

If you have found all the cats so far, you will get the 10 cat achievement at his point!

Isle 5 introduces us to cats in moving hiding places. You'll need to click on the door of the boat that passes by to open it while it's moving to find a cat.

Isle 6 is two isles, and as you move through the game you're going to find more like these. It features penguins. If you make it through solving both penguin islands, you will get an achievement as well.

If you have found all the cats by this point, you will get an achievement for finding 25 cats. Well done.

Isle 7 is REALLY busy and you're going to start finding cats in places like inside the trunks of cars! So be sure to really pan around and click. on. EVERYTHING. You may need to use the hints.

Please note in this first screen shot I made a mistake for one of the cats, it's now updated with a light blue arrow meant to show the cat is actually at the back of the house in a window.

This one is made up of multiple levels and you'll find cats inside logs too which can be hard to see without changing the perspective.

You'll also start seeing cats inside the mine shafts which is a popular theme throughout the rest of the game.

Isle 8 is a lot of fun, it's the second penguin isle! Once you have completed this level, you'll get the penguin achievement! It's not too hard.

Isle 9 is when things really start to get frustrating. I had to leave the level and come back. Many cats are under hats, pots, in boxes/crates, and in between houses in sneaky ways. You'll also find them in woodpiles and in between chimneys. It can be frustrating. Remember to just keep panning around and zooming in.



Take a break if you need it and come back to it.

Isle 10 is such a nice break, it's good and easy.

This isle is one of the most frustrating in the game even when you use hints. I had to take breaks and revisit. Even going back after beating it, to find the cats again to get shots for this guide, it took me forever!

This is also where you'll find the spaceship for the achievement. There's a cat floating on moving ice, don't confuse him with the penguin. There's also one painfully obvious next to a street light which took me forever haha. They're in between the little spaces in the houses, in windows, in boxes, in trunks of cars and in logs. Use patience.

Isle 12 isn't too difficult again. It's pretty relaxing. Make sure to look under the arch way between the two little isles.

Isle 13 is also fairly simple just be sure to look under and in between structures to find all the cats.

Isle 14 is deceptive. It looks simple because everything is in one place, but it has a few tricky spots. Be sure to look in the moving train, you'll find a cat in one of the cars. Follow the train to the tunnel and pan down where you'll see a mine shaft. Click on it a few times to make a mine cart appear. it will also have a cat in it.

Once again the isle is a singular isle, so this one isn't too hard.

This is the LAST isle that has HINTS. After this, you will not get anymore hints and the game will become more difficult.

Thankfully, it's a really easy level. There's even two cats just hanging out.

And so we come to the first of the Christmas Isles. if you beat all of these you'll get an achievement. This isle and the rest in the game have NO hints. While I don't have the yarns on here, just remember they're often hidden in plain sight, on top of trees, as ornaments, in boxes etc.

For this first level be sure to look in gift boxes. Look UNDER the trees. Look under the sleigh.

Again it's Christmas, again no hints. The biggest tip I can give you is not to rush while opening things. Some of the yarn and cats blend in with the boxes and you will open without noticing that one was inside.

This is one of the hardest levels in the game because there is a moving conveyor belt and some of the cats are in boxes on the belt, and one white cat is sitting on the belt.

You'll see one white cat sitting on the conveyor belt as it moves at one point. Just wait and it'll eventually appear.

The next tricky one is a purple gift box that will be moving on the conveyor belt. There's a few of them so keep an eye out. it has a pink bow. There's a cat inside that one too.

The cats in this level are hiding inside every nook and cranny. It can be frustrating.

Welcome to the final isle! It's still Christmas, no hints, but a few funny things to spot if you keep your eyes open.

One of the trickier cats is hiding in a lopsided tree. Look for a dead snowman to find one of the cats as well. You'll also find a cat under a tree, and once again you'll find them in boxes.


Once you beat this level you'll get at least 2 achievements if you have followed this guide.
