Logic Gate Thinking

Description
In this level you start without a Portal Gun and have to get through various different puzzles to make it to the end. It uses logic gates for puzzles, but if you don't know how they work, there will be a room at the beginning for playing around with them.

I made this level using the Beemod.

the orange portal should automatically activate as soon as you get close enough to the blue one

Am I missing something here? It appears the orange portal is tied to nothing that activates it. Or at least there's no antlines running to it, and it's not enabled by default. You can activate the blue portal easy enough but without the orange, you can proceed no further.
