Summary:

According to the HomeWorld 2 specs, the in-game ship is 5km long- normally I build at roughly half scale, but there is simply no way SE can support a ~2.5km ship, so I had to scale this down to something much more usable and sensible. As such, the Bentus you see here is ~550m long, roughly 1/10 scale based on those inaccurate old measurements that you can often find online.

However, that doesn't mean this recreation is low on detail or features, quite the opposite- building to a smaller scale means that I didn't run into issues with SE's hard-coded shape-limit ( not the block limit, that's something else that can be turned off ), as such I could pack the ship with tons of useful features that the real-deal also had, such as multiple docking points for visiting ships, production facilities, and a powerful 'shield' in the form of a SafeZone for when this ship is converted into a Station to take advantage of the SafeZone feature, hence having multiple JumpDrives and standard engines for propulsion when in 'ship mode'.
