SF-121 Starlancer / Starfighter & Interceptor

Description
The SF-121 Starlancer, is a starfighter and interceptor, designed by our eastern division back on Eath. Also know on some regions as Silver Swallow.

In the beginning ages of space faring, the Navy and Space Force divisions realized they needed a faster, more maneuverable, and cheaper alternative to the SF-40 Mirage Phantom. While the western division began developing what would come to be the [REDACTED], the eastern division of R&D teams came with the Starlancer as a 'fil the gap' solution. But it became much more than that.

A total of 10,645 units were built back on Earth, with around 2,433 more produced in space. The general design stayed the same, although the 2 crew version became pretty much the default design produced in space, with several upgrades put on it. Specifically, it's gyroscopes and main engines were the biggest updates to the fighter, once it became the main unit in many squadrons around the universe.

Armed with 2 25mm Cannons below the cockpit, it can be armed with rocket pods, guided missiles, and whatever it's user desires or needs. The gunner seat makes the weapon management even easier, leaving the pilot in the front to focus on flying and, if the occasion suggests, dogfighting, while his RIO in the back can manage everything else in that meantime. But make no mistake, the Starlancer can be fully operated with only the front pilot.

The refueling connector, localized under the fuselage, will replenish the oxygen tank and batteries of the unit. Standard versions came with only 2 main batteries, as well as some backup ones inside the wing struts. At full speed ahead, the fighter has little more than 1 hour of operation with this setup, the low autonomy comes from the fear of pilots deserting and flying long distances in the fighter, in the older days, when space piracy got out of control. The Federation wanted none of these fighters in the hands of criminals, as they pose real danger in large numbers, even thoug the design has seen too many years of operation.
