I actually liked that laser repeater. It matched quite well with unusual part usages and added some playtime to the puzzle to get your brain working. I get that there are a mix of novice and expert players browsing the workshop, but maybe revert the change and retool the laser idea to be a different puzzle?

My difficulty system is based on TIM:EMC. I'm going to remove that red herring.

I would call this medium or hard (not sure how to contextualize because beginners may get stumped while experts may find the solution after a set period of time). I did not think to use the bowling ball to lower the right-most paper lantern, because I kept trying to figure out how to delay the delay of the laser repeater. That solution is really clever and minimalistic as a red herring .
