By Sooper
Gaining levels late-game can be a pain, you wanna beat those dark doppelgangers on epic difficulty? Sorry, you need more levels. Wanna get 30m damage? Sorry, you need to at least be level 49. This guide is gonna show you the laziest yet most efficient way to dominate the opposition through brute force. The Mattserker.

Preparation; part 1: The necessities.
There are a few requirements you'll need to fulfill before you execute this, namely just gear.

Now, for the sake of your own time, and the few people who clicked on this guide who don't speak English, I'm going to mainly use images as direction.

I'll quickly explain why you need these said items.

The Chainsaw Blade
The 100% Death/Doom Res is required to survive some of the attacks from the Zombie Hydra.

The Viking Helmet
You need the randomly cast Berserk to make this plausibly worth-while.

The Green Cross
You're taking damage, you need the regeneration. obviously.

Remember, these few are only the necessities, if you only have these items you can still make it work. However, it's much slower than what we're looking for.
Preparation; part 2: Refinements
There are a few very important refinements you can make regarding this process, and a few smaller changes you can make if you're a little under-leveled, so let's go over them shall we?

Matt
The Dragon Armor
Using this almost ensures you're going to constantly have Brave status. Also the fire resistance it gives is convenient.

The Sword Medal
It's extra damage, it speeds up the process, giving you just that little bit of extra damage you may need.

The Balance Badge
Extra damage, extra defense. It's an all around good item to use.

The Angel Pin
Not recommended for use unless you're notably under-leveled or don't have the Chainsaw Blade maxed.

(From the flairs mentioned above, remember that you can only use two along with the Green Cross.)

Lance
The Accelerator
Since Matt, when berserked, occasionally uses his attack "Legend", he'll get the Tired debuff, which starts quickly decreasing his Dodge, and more detrimentally, his Accuracy. The Accelerator combats this by randomly casting "Speed Up". Which buffs both of the aforementioned stats.

The Leather Armor
It casts Temper, why would you not equip it? Well there is a reason but you're unlikely have it.

The Puppy Hat
While often more of an impairment than it is a benefit, if you are honestly struggling with staying alive, which you shouldn't be, you can equip it with some validity, but be warned, not only does he take up time whenever he activates, he could give Matt some Garlic, which removes the Berserk effect.

(Regarding flairs, Lance in particular doesn't feasibly benefit from using any other than the Pocket Clock, which has such an absurdly low chance of working you shouldn't even bother.)

Anna
The Angel Wing
It will randomly cast "Arrow Rain", which when paired with specific flairs, regardless how much damage it does, can very effectively assist Matt.

The Pope Dress
Figuratively and literally a life saver, you should only use it if you think that Matt could potentially die.

The Diamond Pin
What I've found to be the most useful flair to use in conjunction with the Angel Wing.

The Fur Hat
Not exactly useful, as the summon is kinda slow, taking up too much time, but if you need the extra damage, have at it.

(There aren't many other flairs that are useful to pair with the Angel Wing, the only one worth a mention is the Crossbone, but it can be hazardous in the sense that it can make it too easy to kill all three heads.)

Natalie
Let's face it, you're probably going for the 30m damage achievement. So it's best to keep Natz as backup, mainly because Matt can defeat all of the Hydras on his own, through some extremely lucky circumstances, which means both downed team members get no exp.. Yeah, better to just keep her as backup.

(The equipped gear should provide proper defense against the Hydra's attacks, this is in case Matt gets downed or you choose to manually end the fight.)

Notes
It's very likely you're gonna be too strong if you use all this gear, so consider not equipping some of the stuff on this list. Most notably removing something that takes up considerable time whenever it casts, Like Arrow Rain.
Preparation; part 3: The Don'ts
There are a few pieces of gear you normally shouldn't use, here's a list.

Matt
Swords
Anything other than the Chainsaw Blade

Hats
Anything other than the Viking Helmet

Armor
The Knight Armor, Viking fur, Space Suit, Army Jacket, Officer's Coat, and Red Jacket

Lance
Guns
The Accelerator, or the Chainsaw Gun

Hats
The Knight Helmet, Viking Helmet, Army Helmet, Officer's Hat, Gas Mask, Puppy Hat

Armor
The Dragon Armor, Viking fur, Space Suit, Army Jacket, Officer's Coat

Anna
Bows
The Departed, Crystal Bow, Thorn Bow.

Hats
The Fur Hat

Armor
The Green Dress, Blue Dress, Fur Dress, Camo Skirt, Maid Outfit

Natalie

None
Hats
None
Armor
None

Flairs
The P*chu Sticker, Clown Fish Sticker, Beast Badge, Cat Badge

Execution; part 1: Unlimited Power!
Now you're ready to fight it, right? WRONG. You need to un-equip anything that gives Lance or Anna any chance at dodging, or resisting Death/Doom. And you should remove the Viking Helmet, from Matt.

Now you need both Lance and Anna to get downed, just give it a few turns and they'll eventually get OHKO'd by the Hydras.

So now you want to flee, once you flee you want to immediately re-initiate the battle, now Lance and Anna will be at very low health, and you're gonna be ready to set up the legendary Mattserker, so just give Matt his Viking Helem, equip Lance's and Anna's proper gear, and skip their turns until..

This right here, this is what you've been waiting for.

You're now successfully using a specialized version of the Mattserker. A legendary play-style created in EBF3. You'll only have to check on it to keep casting Berserk on Matt, but otherwise it's completely idle, and completely free EXP.
Execution; part 2: Finale
Welp, this is it, assuming Matt hasn't killed the Hydras already, you finally feel it's time to cash out.

Wait for Matt to exit his Berserk status naturally, revive Anna, who then revives Lance, switch out Lance for Natalie, use Heal More, wait for your turn, un-equip the Viking Helmet from Matt, and finally, finish off the remaining Hydras for that sweet sweet EXP.
Author's Thanks
It took me all of four hours to make this guide, mind you I made it while letting Matt destroy everything in the background, so i had an ulterior motive.

Anyway, this is my gift to this game after nearly 90 hours, and my gift to this community.

Have fun terrorizing the Zombie Hydra.

Is there a difference in the amount of EXP you get based on difficulty?

Ahh, gotcha.

I was talking about once you're done with the fight, it didn't respawn for me until I went to a Slime Cat and went back to the Hydras.

Zombie Hydras heads should respawn within two turns of being killed. I don't know what a slime cat has to do with it, but whatever works I guess.

Never mind, just found out that using a Slime Cat make them respawn.

hello, this guide is nice but I was wondering how long does it take for the Zombie Hydras to respawn ?

Glad it worked for ya, and if Matt ends up being too powerful, you just have to swap out some of his gear so that he doesn't kill everything too quickly. But that's only if you want to grind up major levels for something.
