'Sedgemoor' Atmospheric Miner

The 'Sedgemoor' Atmospheric Miner is a heavy airborne miner capable of operating on planets with a dense atmosphere. It is entirely battery-powered and has the agility to get itself into and out of tight situations, making it an excellent choice for expansion without requiring additional personnel.

Any engineer worth the name should be able to fend for themselves. The Sedgemoor makes the large-scale extraction of mineral resources that much simpler, due to its robust design and large cargo capacity. Capable of transporting 66 tons of ore in almost any planetary environment while maintaining excellent acceleration and stability, the design is more than capable of allowing a single engineer to gather the resources to build anything they might need or want. While the initial expense makes it less suited for early construction after landing, the ship is extremely effective when the primary limitation to expansion is the lack of qualified pilots.

Still a compact design despite having twice the cargo capacity of earlier miners, the Sedgemoor actually possesses a higher thrust-to-weight ratio than its predecessors, making it capable of operating at higher altitudes or performing acrobatics while fully loaded. In fact, the design is capable of tilting ninety degrees forward and mining from this position, making it even more forgiving to fly than lighter designs. The onboard Batteries can in extreme cases have trouble keeping up with such a large amount of thrust, but the chance of a crash due to mere power loss has been assessed at effectively zero. A standard complement of navigational and working lights along with an Ore Detector make the Sedgemoor an effective independent resource gatherer, and in a pinch the design can be used as a fast transport if its pilot doesn't mind manually loading cargo onto the ship.

Like related designs, the Sedgemoor is designed to be manufactured in automated facilities. Alternately, if even greater ore transport capacity is needed, the vehicle can be supported by the 'Akita Inu' Mining Transport to enable the construction of a huge variety of designs with a single mining expedition. Even on its own, the miner is a reliable investment in guaranteeing that any planetary resource can be exploited to the fullest, and will hopefully keep enterprising prospectors out of danger while doing so.

This design does not use mods, subgrids, or scripts, and it should work in survival mode with thruster damage on. Experimental mode is NOT required.
