Character Creation
Step 1.
Make a cuboid.

So there are no racial or gender benefits, just pick the one you like between
  • Human
  • Elf
  • Dwarf
  • Orc
  • Goblin
  • Lizard
  • Undead
  • Frogman
After getting the character set up looking the way you want them to look, it's time to pick a class. To note: You can not change this class after this setup process, so choose wisely.
  • Warrior
  • Ranged
  • Mage
  • Rogue
Classes
Alright time for school, pick your classes.

I might make my own guide here but for now IceBarren has already made a pretty comprehensive one so I'll just refer you to them.

Noteworthy Buildings
Here we are in the meat of it. What is this thing, and what does it do?

Statue of Life

What this is for here is basically a spawn point. You sing to it and it grants you the ability to not only spawn on it when you inevitably die, but it also acts as a form of fast travel.

If you use the map and zoom in as far as you can go, you'll see this guy.

Villages

With a recent update, you should spawn directly next to one. Sometimes you'll get lucky and all of the citizens are petrified however, maybe there's another town nearby.

Ruins

These guys come in all shapes and sizes, be on the lookout for them because they're sure to hold either some lore, an item, or a horde of monsters ready to be put down.

Tomb

Got some crawl space and some lore.

Arena

Ah the arena. Gear yourself up and talk to the arena master. He will send in some enemies in the center and you kill them. Pretty simple, can be done repeatedly for farming.

Floating Island

These bad boys can fit so many loots on them up to a total of 1 item. So to actually get on top of the island, without getting to a higher plane and gliding onto it, you need a special item called a Sky Whistle. Check the segment on Special Items for more details.

Volcano

Volcanos will sometimes spawn and, I think mine I have photographed here is full of water? Sometimes it has lava and that will hurt you.

Enchanted Forest

Spooky Purple Forest!

Loot Room

So these are usually guarded by a door of some kind, solved by having the appropriate Special Item. But they've got a chest inside that will have loot!

Circle of Power

This beast is the Stonehenge Circle of Power. It contains a lore tablet and usually a 5* Legendary Enemy. Once you've defeated them, they drop an Ember of Power that you use on the nearby brazier to increase your power slightly through this region.

Mana Pump

Mana Pumps are surrounded by the Steel Legion. They're usually on flatter ground, so take the images with a grain of salt. They've got 4 Mana Inductors, each protected by a slightly stronger enemy unit. Once you've killed the Enemy you can destroy the inductor. Destroy all 4 inductors and it spawns a boss in the center. Kill the boss, kill the mana pump in the middle. Loot for days.

Demon Portal

You may have noticed around your region that some monsters have been "possessed" and thus granted extra strength and are usually quite foreboding looking. Well your problem lies here, in this demon portal. There is no physical feature to it, but after speaking to an NPC and finding it's location it will show up on the map as such.
It's constantly spitting out Imps, and if you try to only damage the portal there are mages nearby that are focused on healing the damaged. It's best to focus the mages, then the portal. The imps will just continue to pour out of the portal until it collapses.

Castle

There's only one way into these castles and that's through the front gate. The front gate is locked, check out the bottom of the Special Items section for information on the types of doors. Inside the castle is a slew of monsters you've gotta cut, shoot, or magic your way through to get to the juicy center that is the Artifact. I haven't seen a castle yet that didn't have an artifact for a prize, so if I'm wrong let me know.

Cutting it off there, sometimes you get rescue events or slaying events in the woods, fields, or lakes. Just keep your eyes peeled, unless you're a skeleton.
Equipment
This game is driven by equipment. Full stop. If you don't have equipment you're going to either find yourself on the sharp end of a Bark Beetle or you'll be running so much you will never need to do leg day again.

So lets dive into it already.

Rarity
Rarity is brutally important. It defines not only the strength of your own equipment but also the danger level of the area you're in and enemies power levels.

Weakest to Strongest is
  • White *
  • Green **
  • Blue ***
  • Purple ****
  • Gold *****
Also a bit of a mention, Red Equipment
Chances are that you're going to be picking up some things that are not for your class. Having Red text on equipment means exactly that. You can not use it, best option here is either to sell it to a vendor (or a player? is that a thing yet?) or give it to a friend. You can drop it onto the ground by hovering over it in the inventory and using the Middle Mouse Button.

Map Rarity

After discovering locations you'll notice that their text is similar to the colors of rarity for items. That is on purpose. It's there to let you know the level of difficulty of the event and potentially the enemies within. Don't go chasing those gold tiers without good equipment, it just wont work.

Equipment+
There will (or, may? RNG) come a time where you run into items that have a + at the end of the name of the equipment. KEEP IT. As of now it's definitely worth keeping it, even if it's a white rarity club you happened to spawn with on character creation.

What this means is that you're able to use that item and keep it's stats when you venture into the surrounding regions. At the time of this writing the game is beset by what's known as

REGION LOCK
Region lock means that any equipment you get in a particular "region", denoted by the white outline when zoomed out on the map, is only worth it's weight while you are inside that region. The moment you step into another zone the rarity of your equipment drops to 0. It's very nearly worthless, unless it has the + next to it.

Once you step into a new land and all your non + gear is poopy, it becomes a greyed out color.

Not only that but, each region has their own tab in the bag menu placed at the bottom of the item list with left and right arrows for navigation.

Stats
Equipment comes with various different stats, all of which are shown on the left side of your screen when you open the inventory bag. (Except for Damage)

  • Level - How many Artifacts you have found
  • Weapon Level - Average of Weapon Tiers
  • Armor Level - Average of Armor Tiers
  • Class - What class you are
  • Specialization - What spec you're running
  • Hit Points - Max HP
  • Attack Power - Not entirely sure, Added both of my swords together and the total came to be higher than what was listed. Subtracted the bonus power and went off base damage and the stat was slightly more than the total of my weapons. No idea.
  • Armor - Physical damage resistance
  • Resistance - Magical damage resistance
  • Critical - % to hit a critical strike
  • Haste - Attack speed increase during fights
  • Regeneration - Stamina regen
  • Mana Generation - For melee it's how much mana is generated per attack. For mages it's passive
  • Climbing Speed - How fast you can scale a wall, rate of stamina use does not change
  • Swimming Speed - How fast you swim through water
  • Diving Skill - Rate of how fast you drown
  • Riding Speed - Some Pets can be mounted once you find the Reins in the Region
  • Hang Gliding Speed - Air Zoom Zooms
  • Sailing Speed - Boat Speed
  • Light Radius - Hit F to whip our your lantern.

Pets
I'll devote a different section to pets but they are technically equipment, they scale with your Weapon and Armor Levels and have their own skill sets. Most stay in a pet carrier. Others, not so much.
Special Item
Talking with NPCs will mark the locations of Special Items, however you can still stumble on them on your own.
If the generation of the map did not spawn any doors locked by a Bell or Harp, then it also should not be spawning the item for them. Not every region will have every item.
  • Hang Glider - Glide from Heights
  • Boat - Sail across bodies of water
  • Reins - Mount Ridable Pets
  • Divine Harp - Open Specific Locked Doors
  • Sky Whistle - Be brought to floating islands
  • Spirit Bell - Pass through Specific Locked Doors
  • Treasure Spirit - Locate Nearby treasures
  • Climbing Spikes - Negate wall climb stamina drain
  • Magic Book of Crafting - Craft 2* items
  • Rare Book of Crafting - Craft 3* items
  • Epic Book of Crafting - Craft 4* items
  • Legendary Book of Crafting - Craft 5* items

Once finding out where an item is, open the map and zoom out. You'll be able to tell immediately where it is because it will be named, with a small image of the Special Item floating over it.

Once you acquire the item, it will still be visible on the map, but it will also be check marked. If you can't find the item in the area, be sure to check on top of the trees. For some reason those jokers like to tie things up in the branches.

Magically Sealed Doors
Old Iron Slides - Will only open once nearby enemies are defeated.

Rune doors - Will only open when all 4 Rune Cubes are destroyed.

Golden Iris - Opens on playing the Divine Harp

Spirit Bell - When Spirit Bell is played, allows you to pass through it like a ghost.

Magical Seal - Opens when all Wizards' Towers are defeated.

Reading the Map
So it may look a bit confusing or overwhelming due to the scale, but it's not that bad.

So on the top right is where you'll find most of the info you need.

Coordinates are probably mainly for the dev team, or if you want to tell the internet where something is so they can find it. I guess?

The Time of Day can be important as when night comes, it's dark. Very very dark. You can find an Inn at any Village and sleep through the night for 10 coins. Check in between 18:00 and 6:00 to speed into the morning.

Temperature and Humidity play a factor in the spawning of snow, berries, heartflowers and the like. Though you find them easily enough so it may not be that important, I do not know specific numbers for them.

Zoom Scale on the map goes from 1:4 to 1:256, useful when using the Village Flight Master to travel to far off areas.

Compass Rose is not stationary, so it moves when you look around.

Name of the region is handy when you might be wearing equipment from the wrong region and need to find it in the bag.

Special mention is in the bottom left, should also bear the name of the region again but it also has an arrow next to it. It will let you toggle between all of the areas you have visited, in the order you last visited them. Useful for if you play multiplayer and travel a lot.

Map Markings
You might notice some strange symbols hovering over names of locations you've found. This happens after speaking to an NPC that has knowledge of the area.

A witch icon is obviously occupied by a Witch that has frozen solid some members of a village in the region. To free the villagers trapped in stone, slay the witch.

A sword icon is a simple fight, typically you kill enough enemies for the boss to spawn and then you kill the boss.

A gnome head is one of the friendly gnome merchants in the region that's been captured by who knows whats. Once freed, he will be able to supply the region's stores with higher quality items.

The demon portal! Some idiots decided to summon forth demons to possess the inhabitants of the land. What once could have been a docile mob is now angry and swole.

Skull means there's a big baddy just waiting for you to waltz up and destroy it.

This is an empty chest icon, tells you there WAS something here, but you took it already.

Hovering over the speech bubble tells you the Lore you discovered and at what percentage the discovered kingdom's lore is currently at.

I'll playtest this again soon and know for sure but I think this flag marks where a Crafting Book is found.

Mana Pumps look funny, but are fairly self explanatory.

This kinda purple bauble indicates it's a Wizards' Tower

A fiery brazier is for the Circle of Power

Villages & You

So you should be spawning near a village when you first make your character. Cool, but what does it all mean?

First off, if you try to craft a weapon it'll tell you how many, and which, materials you'll need and a specific type of crafting station.
In this example I need 5 iron cubes and an anvil.

Inside the village we've got a dozen different things that I'll explain what they do.
  • Blacksmith
  • Flight Master
  • Clothier
  • Guild Master
  • Analyst
  • Weapon Vendor
  • Carpenter
  • Item Vendor
  • Armor Vendor
  • Inn
  • *Sewers*

Here's the icons as well as which tool stations are at those locations.
Blacksmith

Customization Bench - Upgrades your Weapons with cubes
Furnace - Where you melt down Ore into Cubes
Anvil - Where you create weapons

Flight Master

No station, speak with the Flight Master to fly away at the cost of coins. The farther away the travel, the more expensive it is.

Clothier

Spinning Wheel - Used for spinning cobwebs and cotton into usable materials/
Loom - Used to make armors

Guild Master

This is where you can change your Class Specialization at no cost or cooldown.

Analyst

Here you can turn those useless leftovers into gear! NICE!

Weapon Vendor

Vendor that sells weapons, free Goblin Merchants to be able to buy more gear.

Carpenter

Saw - Hack those wood logs into fine cubes
Workbench - Use to create bows

Item Vendor

Vendor that sells glass bottles, sugar cubes, bombs, and sometimes another pet treat.

Armor Vendor

Vendor that sells Armors, free Goblin Merchants to be able to buy more gear.

Inn

Visit the Inn between 18:00 and 6:00 to sleep the night away for 10 coins.

~~
Sewers

Alright so Sewers do not always spawn in villages. However if your village does have a sewer, it's very likely to have a dungeon that holds an Artifact. And most artifact dungeons have powerful monsters guarding them so don't go in there expecting to herd sheep.
Bombs
For the longest time I thought they did nothing but boy was I wrong.

See this discoloration?

Slap it with a bomb.

Yes I found a worthless bag of gold in it.
Will this kill me?
Many newcomers fall to the first mob they encounter, but there's actually a telltale way to determine whether something will kill you or not. Here it is.

The blue bar means that this person is an ally. No matter how much you may want to harm them, you will not be able to. They also will not fight you.

The green bar means that this creature will not hurt you as long as you also do not hurt it or show aggression in close proximity.

The red bar on this guy means it's hostile. It is currently punching me. What a meany.
Pets

These hungry bastards like to be given treats, this will cover what treats feed which pet. And where to get that treat. Hit Ctrl + F to find a food you have and want, or to find a pet you want and want to know which food it needs.

Pets scale with your Weapon and Armor Level, the higher your equipment rarity the better your pet is.

WARNING - SOME PETS ARE HOSTILE BY NATURE
Get close enough to them to draw them in before pulling out the food that they like, you'll be fine.
If there are many mobs interested, only 1 will tame, the rest will attack you when the food runs out.

Where To Get The Food
Check the General Store in villages, they will have 1 pet food item. Other than that, kill everything. I haven't noticed a significant pattern regarding enemies dropping the same item every time.
Thanks
Hey hope this helps people. If I've missed something (or gotten it inaccurate) feel free to comment, I'll plug it in there. Safe cubing.

you can get + on legendary equipment but even plus items become crap once you leave the kingdom, so the only end game gear is the artifacts which dont boost combat powers just exploration to make it quicker and easier, fun with friends and if you dont hate the game for what it could have been its a nice way to spend the time
Savaş 27 May, 2020 @ 6:12am
Is it possible to find a legendary+ equipment? I've only seen a craftable epic equipment once.
Pattamas Gaming 16 Dec, 2019 @ 6:51am
Oh okay thanks.
Stella 16 Dec, 2019 @ 5:25am
he respawns
Ashezth  [author] 15 Dec, 2019 @ 4:29pm
I haven't actually killed any possessed townsman so, good luck? Moving regions is easier than you think so you're not really screwed either way.
Pattamas Gaming 15 Dec, 2019 @ 2:16pm
What if the general store's owner got possessed and I killed him? Will he respawn or I am screwed? :-)
Stella 29 Oct, 2019 @ 4:28pm
I know the section is in development but Ive been scouring everywhere to try to find chocolate cake but most sources are out of day and thouse that arent tend to just be hey you need chocolate cake to tame the raccoon when i really want to know how to get chocolate cake in the first place anyway ill be keeping an eye on this discussion for any new info
Ashezth  [author] 17 Oct, 2019 @ 3:11pm
In the preview it might be hard to see, click the image to make it larger. It's discolored in the area that is exploded in the next picture. If you still can't see it, uh sorry then.
Morp 17 Oct, 2019 @ 7:26am
wait what do bombs do? I see no discoloration
Ashezth  [author] 11 Oct, 2019 @ 3:59pm
Pet scaling is already mentioned and unfortunately +gear is pure RNG.
