Region-To-Province modding guide Rome 2 (don't download)

Description
This is a guide in Rome 2 how to change which regions belongs to which provinces. This is not a mod. I just took one of my older mods and changed the description. I can't remember what content there is if you download this. But that is not important. What is important is this tutorial:

You will only need a PFM that can edit startpos files. No need for the assembly kit.

1. Open up your startpos and navigate to :
campaign_startpos -> compressed_data -> campaign_env -> campaign_model -> world ->
region_manager -> regions_array.
Here find the region ID of the region you want to move to a different province. Write it down.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. Navigate to:
campaign_startpos -> compressed_data -> campaign_env -> campaign_model -> campaign_map_data -> provinces_data -> province_data_array.
Here you will find the provinces.
Open up one and you'll find two lines in the province_data. First one is the province name and the second line is the region that is the "main" region of that province. (I don't think it matters which).
Go further and you will find several "province_data_array" with a number to it. These are the regions of that province.

So. Find the province you want to move a region to.
Then find a province that you take a region from.
Copy the line of the region name that you want to move.
Duplicate one of the "province_data_array" and paste in the region name.
Now go to the old province (that you took the region FROM) and delete that "province_data_array".

Now you have technically moved the region. But we need to do one more thing to make recruitment work.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. Navigate to:
campaign_startpos -> compressed_data -> campaign_env -> campaign_model -> world -> province_manager -> province_array.

Find the province that you gave a region. What is important is the "faction_province_manager_array".

This is going to be a bit complicated to explain but I will try.
The number of how many "faction_province_manager_array" there are is how many factions has a region in that province.
So for example in the province Arabia Felix there are two of them, because that province is shared by Saba and Muscat.
If you enter on of them you will find a couple of lines. I will use Arabia Felix as an example.
1
25
127 14
False
(blank)
(blank)
4294967295
0
Only the three first lines are important to us.
The first is the ID of the province. Or something.
The second is the ID of the faction.
The TWO numbers (there is a space between 126 and 14) is the region id's.
Basically what this means is that Saba owns region 127 and region 14.

If you go back and look at the other one, you will find:
2
165
12
...
165 is the faction ID of Muscat. And 12 is the ID of the region (Oman).

So... What you need to do is you need to find the province you want to give the region. If the faction that owns the region is already inside the province then you only need to go to that faction's
"faction_province_manager_array" and add a space to the third line and add the new region id that you give to that province.
You also need to go to that "old" province and remove that region id.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now you're done and can save.
There is however one thing to keep in mind if you add an additional faction to this modified province. For example making a province that is shared by 2 factions now is shared by 3. You need to clone one of the " faction_province_manager_array" and edit the faction ID.

Hopefully this helps. It's a bit messy. Numbers here and there. But I did my best in explaining this. Message me if you need help.

Hello Sammy. That is out of my scope of knowledge i'm afraid. It's pretty tricky to do actually in Rome 2 sadly

Good question. I have that question too. I think your best luck is to ask Dresden (creator of Divide et Impera) on discord. I can't remember if i've asked him already.

Check Divide et Impera mp head to head campaign as Edetani (that iberian faction on the coast). If they have victory conditions then it should be possible.

As far as I know, only the major factions have mp hth victory conditions in the base game. But not the minor factions once you unlock them using mods. Not sure if you actually can change it or not.

But yeah try DEI, then try contact Dresden. And please tell me if you discover how it's done

Hello there, I just have an off topic question if it doesn't mind. Do you know if its possible to edit victory conditions for head to head multiplayer campaign?
