'Monitor'-class corvette [vanilla]

Information
Designed in 2096 by Pulsar Space Industries, the Monitor has served as a picket ship and point defense vessel in various navies for over 45 years. Engineered to pack the biggest punch in the smallest package, the Monitor excels at close range fights against strike craft and corvettes.

Lacking a jump drive due to its compact size, the Monitor is most commonly seen patrolling systems against pirate and rebel threats. When used with a fleet, it requires a carrier or detachable jump ring in order to achieve FTL speeds. That being said, wolf-packs of Monitor corvettes are extremely deadly to enemy fighters, as spectacularly shown during the second Battle of Epsilon Eridani.

While most Monitors are small enough to be operated by one person and contain only one cryo-pod, the ship features a small interior along with armory lockers for a pair of Marines to defend the ship against boarding attempts.
