Description
David Croft: And the Lost Skulls of Malden [SP]



This is a story driven adventure mission about David Croft, the uncle of Lara.
Lara gave David an ancient scroll about a myth on the Island of Malden. According to the scroll there are two ancient skulls on the Island with magical powers that will bring ever lasting peace to the Island once they are placed together on an altar. Lara requested that you (David) travel to Malden in search for these skulls and see if this ancient myth is true.
You will meet up with the local informant Gustav and start your adventure from there.




There is more to this story, but that is up for you to find out :)


Gameplay:
In the game you will be guided through hints and map markers instead of traditional 'tasks'.
Your rented villa on the Island is the place where you can auto-save, heal to 100%, get new gear and weapons and repair and refuel your car. The story is best played on veteran difficulty without manual saving. Depending on your playstyle the mission should take around 2 hours to complete.

Notes:
Originally the mission had a prologue and a very different and more dark ending, but i've scrapped that for several reasons and made the mission to what it is now. Some dialogue video's may contrain a few grammar errors, but thats not a problem right :)


Hints:
The mission has a speeded up day/night cycle. Some things are best to do at daylight in the mission. At some point in the mission a couple of AI will join you. Those AI are playable units (press U). The bottom of the ocean has better visibillity.

I could have made it a lot longer (it originally also had a prologue), but thats a lot more work. The file size of the mission would then also be bigger due to more added dialogue video's.

Ty, with the +/- keys you can speed up time even more. Waiting for daylight takes just a few minutes at fastest speed if you don't like to play the mission at night time.

Very nice level. I suggest you lose the daylight and night time rotation. It just becomes annoying as you have to wait for night to pass. It takes the fun away from the level. It's good enough that you don't need the rotation.

Thanks for the feedback Kevin. Yeah, the pistol (and rifle) flashlight is something I've added at the last moment. I have tested the mission myself without flashlight at all and used daylight to complete the objectives. The speeded up day/night cycle I have added for strategic reasons, otherwise the whole mission could be done in 1 day and in daylight (which is too easy). I might reduce the speed a little bit, though it will stay faster than normal cycle. Glad you liked the story :)

Just couple of little things that could be looked at, 1. the pistol flash light doesn't actually fit the pistol and 2. the day clock is set too fast, could do with being half the speed, otherwise quite a good story.
