Gunboat 01

Description
A large, rather heavily armed 19th-century gunboat, based on the Gilyak class of gunboats, built for the Imperial Russian Navy, adjusted for Neter gameplay. The funnels work at full speed.

To compliment smaller and faster torpedo gunboats, I created this gunboat to be slower, heavier and dish out more firepower, taking all the damage while smaller gunboats harass the enemy. She carries the same bow torpedo tube as smaller torpedo gunboats, but boats a much more powerful armament, for only twice the cost. It can hold its own; can outmatch a Ransack at close-medium range, and a Pilferer at medium-long range.

- 2261 blocks
- 29,773 materials
- 68m length
- 11m beam

- ~2,600HP
- 14,000 materials
- 2x 1m steam screws
- 20m/s top speed @ ~1.5 materials/second.

- 3x '6.7-inch' 170mm howizters, fused HE/FR, low velocity, range: 3,000m (front turret is a twin)
- 8x '4.5-inch' 114mm guns, fused HE/FR, medium velocity, range 2,000m
- 1x '20-pounder' 94mm simple type A(L) gun, fused HE/FR, range: 1,500m
- 2x 40mm 'pom pom' AA guns.
- 1x fixed bow torpedo tube, 8m HE/FR torpedo with APN guidance, range: 3,000m, speed 56m/s

- Armor consists of metal - alloy slopes - wood in center, tapering to alloy-alloy at bow and stern.

- Good starter craft.

I'm trying to recreate some of the ships that took part into the battle of Tsushima, starting with the Emperor Alexander II. Your use of the mimics and overall hull shape helps and learned me massively, it's not much I know but still, thanks.

@03k Maus, this craft was loosely based off the Russian gunboat Gilyak.

I really like this! What reference pictures did you use to make this? I'm wanting to make ships of this type for a campaign, and this is basically the style I'm going for.

Thank you for your kind words all, no idea how this craft suddenly sprung into popularity, but it has enticed me to get back into FtD and update my crafts for the recent updates; I left for a month or so for work and new games.

@stoicboss101, yes I'm building my fleet between the ironclad (1860) and dreadnought era (1906)

it looks like you designed it during the "ironclad" era. was that the intention?

Gosh, I wish I had those skills...
