This is a small themed cosmetics mod that adds a variety of headwear based on real-world military uniforms.

It includes:
• USMC Barracks Cover, Dress version
• USMC Barracks Cover, Service version
• USMC Garrison Cover
• USMC Campaign Hat (aka Drill Sergeant hat)
• USN Dixie Cup Hat

The set is perfect for creating characters who had a military background before the alien invasion, and who now have joined the X-Com resistance against Advent.

Some general background info for those who are interested:

This is a collection of cosmetic items for XCom 2 that I created a year or two ago, originally for personal use. It was built for the vanilla version because I only ever play Long War 2, and so I've never gotten around to purchasing War of the Chosen. I was inspired to release it when someone on the xcom2mods subreddit posted a request for one of the items included in this set.

This mod contains 5 hats, based on real-world military uniforms. 4 from the U.S. Marine Corps, and the fifth is a simple Dixie Cup Hat which was once a part of the U.S. Navy enlisted uniform. The hats can be used on soldiers of either gender.

As my intention with this was to accurately recreate the real-world items rather than to make generic X-Com equivalents, they do not have customisable colours. My personal copy of this mod includes several more hats from other military and civilian service organisations, but I've excluded them from the published version because they need some more work before I'd consider them worthy of release. If there's enough interest in this mod to warrant it, I may go back and polish them up for release and update this mod. I may also make generic X-Com versions that will have customisable colours. I have other unreleased cosmetic mods too, and if there's any interest in this one, then I'd be open to releasing those as well!

I could build a WOTC version for you, it's actually quite easy. Infact, you don't even have to give me your files, i can download it from the workshop and convert it myself, i'd just need your permission.

With regards to WotC compatibility, it seems that the fix requires that the art assets in question need to be reprocessed through the WotC SDK. Sooner or later, I will land up getting WotC, and when I do, I'll be sure to update all the assets.... That might be a while though, but perhaps I could get some help from another modder in the mean time. I'll keep you all posted.

Marcus Findlay, I was aiming more for late twentieth century... sorta Vietnam Era to present, but I do have hats from other countries including Britain and the USSR, and I do have a "commissar hat" in there. I also have officer's versions of the peaked caps included here. I also have US Army and US Air Force ones, as well as more hats for the US Navy. There's also some civilian service stuff, like a NYPD police hat, and a Canadian Mounted Police campaign hat.

They all need a bit more polish, but whenever I have some spare time to do the necessary work, I'll gradually update this mod to include them.

It needs World War 2 Hats from All countries XD just i can think on Soviet Commissar Hats British Army Hats German Officer Hats and American Officer Helmet.

Hi Kevin, tried just now with WOTC. Campaign hat (drill sergeant) and Barracks cover dress version are missing. The other three work fine. I like your mod, btw....please, give us more!!
