The Khergits are more like the barbarians that took down Rome and a combination of that and Attila the Hun, not asian steppe tribes.

@The Pandox Crafter Swadians are Germans, derived from the word Swabia/Suebi just like the Sarranids having their name taken from the Sassanids. Meanwhile Rhodoks are italian/Greek, from their name and also their helmet as seen in the factions menu.

Swadians are completely French/German, Rhodoks are a odd combination of central european nations, mostly germany and italy but with some influences, Khergits are central asian steppe tribes, Vaegirs are the old slavic nations, Nords are the well....what do you think they are? and the Sarranids are based on middle eastern nations with the name coming from the Sassanids.

As far as i know Swadians are French/English and the Rhodoks are Italian/German

@Ultimuh I'd though that the Swadians would be more England/Britain? Then again the Swadians dont have the classic longbow, so its a strange one.

Let's see if I get this right..
Mongols as the Khergit, Russia as Vaegirs? Norway as Nords (easy one), Arabia as the Saarranid? Germany as Swadia? Maybe? I am not sure about the Rhodoks though.

@Mark Newton there maybe be problem with your installation. try re-subing. and check there not a map on the list called "untitled map".
