KMI Wendigo Class Frigate

Length: 44 Blocks, 110 Meters.
Size: 2,303 Blocks. 28,085 PCU.
Dry Tonnage: 2,835 Tons.
Max Jump Range: 2,645 Km.

This ship is vanilla and survival ready. It does use DLC blocks for aesthetic improvements, but those blocks are entirely or almost entirely not structurally necessary. If you do encounter a major issue, please, let me know so I can resolve it.

Knightmare Industries presents the Wendigo Class Frigate, one of its latest generation of warships. The Wendigo is a large Frigate designed for deep space operation. Powered by reliable and efficient Ion thrust and built with a mostly light armor hull, the ship is efficient to maintain and operate. The name comes from Algonquian folklore, where wendigo is a mythical man-eating creature or evil spirit.

As previously mentioned, the Wendigo's engines are entirely Ion to keep ice requirements down. The main thrust is provided by 4 Large Ion Thrusters assisted by several Small Ion Thrusters. Power is provided by 1 Large Reactor, 20 Small Reactors, and a substantial Battery backup system. The ship is equipped with 3 Jump Drives, and is well armed with 12 Gatling Turrets, 8 Missile Turrets, 13 Interior Turrets, and 10 forward facing Rocket Launchers. The hull is mostly light armor, with heavy armor concentrated at the front and around critical areas. It is equipped with 2 Assemblers, 2 Basic Refineries, a Medical Room and Survival Kit, with 2 connectors for docking.

Flight 2 Changes:
- Added new decorative blocks.
- Altered reactor room design. Moved Large Reactor and Small Reactors, added third Jump Drive.

The ship is built fully vanilla and survival ready, with an interior in the style of "The Expanse." I also used a light changing script to switch around the interior light settings. Its an older script and I couldn't find the original creator. The script was updated by ColTeH for my use. There are also a few other program and timer blocks if you need them. You may have noticed, but the ship uses DLC blocks.

Please feel free to modify the ship to fit your in game needs. Just be sure to give credit to the original creator.

Author's Notes
So, this ship took me a while to conjure. Building it was a breeze, but I had to have something in mind to build first. I was looking to build a small ship, but was having trouble finding a unique design in my style. In particular I wanted to use the engines from the Orion, but on a smaller ship. I wanted to make something like the Morrigan, but couldn't get it to work. Looking back on some previous ships, I came across the Jamestown again and liked it. I took the method I used for designing the Jamestown's hull, combined it with the Orion's engines, and made the Wendigo. There was one other feature I originally included in the design, but I wanted to put out the more universal version, rather than a specialized one that would likely have to be modified for server use.

If you have any questions or comments about the ship, please leave them in the comments below. Thank you for browsing this item. Safe Voyages! Papple.

Oh okay, thank you!

KingELB, sure, tbh I don't see why not. I wasn't the one who originally made it though, and I haven't been able to find out who that was either. A user by the name of ColTeH updated it to make it functional and gave it to me, as it was a bit old and no longer working at first. It would be better to credit them imo.

Hi, I love the style and design of these ships and I was wondering if I could also use the lighting script to make systems on some of my own future workshop creations more compact, I will credit you of course

As far as I understand it, yes, it should. The dlc blocks are all decorative and wouldn't affect ship function, but the issue would be being able to paste it in. I'm mostly certain that you can put it in, but the dlc blocks won't be pasted in with it. Shouldn't be any harm in trying. Please let me know if you encounter any issues.

Does this still function without the DLC?

@Papple2 I've just made this 2nd gen interceptor which I'll be publishing tomorrow, I think. I've decided to name it the Tempest, and I was thinking, what if I made two other 2nd gen strike craft, named the Storm and the Whirlwind. ;)

No worries. It just didn't sit right with me, and I'd really rather people not use that re-spelling.

Yeah, sorry. Nice work, though. I will refrain from that type of comedy from now on in any of your posts.
