ESCALATION 2022

With public support at home and abroad secured, the US military quickly moves into its next phase for the war in South America. Long distance strikes into Brazil have yielded mixed results, as the enemy logistic infrastructure has proven to be more resilient than expected and remains operational. Although now an ally in the war, Venezuela's offensive capability is still nonexistent and her airfields and other assets are in shambles, and their remaining ground forces continue to be pushed back by the determined invaders. The Caribbean airfields have proven to be a bottleneck, as the region lacks the proper infrastructure to support large American air fleets. For now, the BLUEFOR plan is two-fold; a large number of carriers and offshore bases will create a ring along South America's east, anchored by the now heavily defended and secured Falkland Islands. A couple more carrier task forces will set sail soon and set up to the continent's west, to provide additional power projection into Brazil and in support of Ecuador.
Meanwhile in the Caribbean, the first of many large surface convoys has set sail to reinforce the Venezuelan army with American troops, while also off-loading much needed relief supplies for starving and desperate civilians and valuable logistical and engineering equipment to rebuild the savaged Venezuelan infrastructure. Simultaneously, several land invasions will be conducted on Brazil's islands in the Caribbean, which not only hold valuable Brazilian soldiers and war equipment, but also have served as unsinkable submarine tenders for the Brazilian navy to continuously harass BLUEFOR ships. Their situation is nearly hopeless, but the Brazilian soldiers, airmen and sailors in these islands still have a few traps to spring on the oncoming Americans...

- Chains of War DLC is required for this scenario.
- A powerful country such as Brazil in this alternate timeline would surely have additional indigenous designs in service, which cannot be replicated due to them not actually existing in real life. I will instead replace these with what I believe would be similarly capable real counterparts. This is the first, and certainly not last, time I will do this in the 2022 series, and will make sure to note which units have been created in this manner within their respective scenarios.
