Description
For all you vanilla fans, here's a map with a cool twist - it might be vanilla, but it's highly decorated, with no need for subscriptions! Abandoned castles and farming villages with the typical ruined stone walls, neolithic ruins and stone circles... all vanilla.

A reboot of an old map, this version features all new road & rail. Highways are spaced apart at the standard vanilla distance so that you don't have to end up subscribing to a mod to be able to do anything with them. There are intersections by Arisandi and Kapustor666, and offshore resources for Industries DLC owners.

This map is a small challenge given its uneven terrain, but there is still plenty of spaces where large buildings that require flat terrain can be placed, especially in and near the start square.

Happy building!

This map looks great with a custom map theme. Suggestions, both used in images above:

- Celtic Coast with Names - a lush green theme, your city will be full of customized names from Celtic regions

- Not So Rocky Hills by Khanador - superb rock faces, also lush green https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1265037348

Lovely map! Thanks! A real challenge to build my city on this one. The hills, mountains and valleys have entertained me for weeks.

The theme was chosen for the lighting rather than the housing, which you can change by using custom buildings. There's a lot of UK style houses and commercial that look great. The European theme buildings are Central Europe (Germany) rather than anything close to Irish style.

I was excited to try this out but disappointed to see it's 'Temperate' instead of 'European'. Meaning I assume things like schools, etc will look North American rather than something that would fit in with Ireland?

Hi! I totally agree. When this map was made, we only had large highways available. Today I would have used the 2x2 highway that's now possible in vanilla instead of a separated highway. Even a 2x2 is big for Ireland but the highway congestion between neighbors would get insane if you only use 1x1 "national highway". Have fun!

Awesome map. personally I don't like starting with massive interstates and interchanges so I went in and changed them to smaller highways but the map itself is amazing. thanks for the hard work

is there a way to get the older version of the map where the highway is connected like in the discription pic?

Still haven't found a map better than this to spend another 200 hours+ on, would still be on it if updates had made it impossible to use my older saves. Other than that nothing I could say bad about this map, best map. x
