Castlevania Deck Building Game

Description
What is a game? A miserable little pile of updates...

Version 3.0 is finally here!

Really this is a lot closer to Version 5 or 6 because I've been testing this out in real life with some friends and have a bunch of changes for you! New rules, new bosses, and even a new hunter! Check it out!

What's New:
1 New Hunter!
8 New Bosses!
A New Mechanic for Bosses!
Updated Rules!
MANY Card Changes!

Thank you all for the continued support, and I hope you enjoy this new iteration!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another 100 years have passed, and Dracula has been resurrected! Enter his castle as one of the many Belmonts or other Hunters who've tracked down and defeated Dracula in the past in an attempt to cut him from this world once and for all!
The Castlevania Deck Building Game adds two new layers to your typical deck building fun: Equipping cards and Traversing Dracula's Castle! During the game, you can pick up weapons, armor, and subweapons that will help you get ahead in the game, and instead of just going from one boss to the next, each player has a figurine they use to travel through the castle, fighting bosses and earning points on their way to defeat Dracula!
Full Rulebook here (and in game): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tQw16ITkQXd-y3bl5IHBXEFaAN7iUZOv/view?usp=sharing
AND INTRODUCING a Print and Play PDF! This includes every card you need to play! And yes, the cards aren't in any order whatsoever. Enjoy! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YTPycmgP-_cK6Ejh8IL-j3I6Ve31-g7D/view?usp=sharing
@fusiondrop Yes, it is the full rulebook! it probably should say, like, ver2 instead of part 2, but its just the second iteration of the rulebook.
Great work, sir. Keep up the enthusiasm. You have done a great job with the manual and its aesthetic as well as the entire game's look and gothic feel. Kudos. I also played your Star Wars DBG and it's the bees-knees. Head over to the comments section on that one for an Atta-boy. Keep up the awesome work, Dex!
I just want to point out that while I did just make a MASSIVE overhaul to the game, this is by no means the final version! In fact, there are already a few changes to be made soon! However, before I just add a couple new cards here and there, Im going to be playtesting more in between. If there are any changes to be made, I will attempt to update this mod in bulk on Sundays. If there's a more pertinent change, I'll make sure to do that asap. Thanks again for playing!! I hope youre all enjoying the update!
Good to know! It's been a while since I last played the game but it's nice to see you're still working on it. Hope to see some nice changes.
Not sure if anyone really checks these comments anymore, but Ive had much more free time on my hands lately and have been playtesting this game like crazy, so there are a lot of balance changes coming to the game soon! Aiming to have an up to date version by friday, so be prepared to see a virtually whole new game!
I'm digging the idea of the map and having slots that let you hang onto some particular kinds of cards from turn to turn. I would suggest making the boss slots not look identical to the cardbacks though, so you can tell more easily when the slots are full or empty.
- Not enough ways to get rid of cards. We ended up being stuck with starter cards for the whole game. And there is way too many of them
- How are you supposed to deal with an effect when it force you to have the boss card in your side of the field when it has to be done for many players ?
- Killing bosses are supposed to be rewarding. Here, you just take punishment, even punishing other players.
- Some cards needs some balance. Some of them were useless all the way through.
- If no one want to buy stuff in the middle, game will stall. We waited for several turns to try to get something decent.
We played a game with two friends and we ended up being disappointed. There is a lot of flaws which can make the mood much heavier and unfun :
- Confrontation is not a good idea. Cooperation would work.
- We spent much time trying to build before getting enough to consider facing the first boss.
- too much crap to throw at others which make the game flow slow. We ended up spending more time trying to recover more than anything else.
- Rules are far from clear and need a massive makeover to be actually understandable. Many points were confusing.
- Some bosses effects aren't clear at all and even be easily devastating for a game.
