Storm Herald Class

Description
SUMMARY

The Storm Herald is a powerful offensive mage that also heals at the same time. While most mages enjoy flashy spells to make them stand out, Storm Heralds take a more subtle approach. The Storm Herald takes pleasure in gaining incremental advantages in combat to get ahead of the opponent. The class has a total of 19 skills.

CLASS STRENGTHS

The Storm Herald is a high damage, strong AoE healing class. Most of the skills of the Herald combine an offensive spell with a defensive ability, allowing for extreme versatility in combat. The class benefits most from a large party size, and a melee focused group that will be in the think of the fight to benefit from the healing provided by their spells. Since the class is based in the Hydro and Aero trees, the class has strong crowd control options. Plasmaburn is a damage over time effect which reduces air and water resistances slightly.

CLASS WEAKNESSES

As stated above, the Storm Herald thrives on incremental advantages to make gains in combat. As such, the class struggles with healing a signal target to full health quickly without spending significant action points to do so. Most of the healing is in terms of healing over time effects.

SIGNATURE SPELLS

The defining ability of the Storm Herald is their powerful storm spells. These storm spells cost little action points, effect most of the battle field, and have a long duration. These spells provide a small buff for party members, while debilitating and hurting enemies. Best of all, each storm spell will stack with the other storm spells, providing a lot of passive bonuses to the party.

BALANCE
Note: Storm spells do not stack with themselves anymore. Casting the same skill multiple times will have no effect.

The mod should be undead friendly and ignores decay for most effects. While it doesnt hurt from decay, it still prevents the healing from occuring.

KNOWN ISSUES

Blizzard will not refund source points if the character dies while the buff is active. (will fix in next release)

CLASS TRAINER LOCATIONS

Act 2 - In the Kitchen on the LV, or in Driftwood near the children on the docks
Act 3 - Upper floor of the LV near Malady

I reduced the amount of damage is does in the last patch by a lot. I would check the combat log.

I dont know what other mods you are using but last I played with this mod it was working fine. You might have something that conflicts. I have not seen any issues with this mod since it's pretty standard and doesn't require scripting.

so i've noticed that the description of plasmaburn says it does damage over time, but looking at the status effect applied on an enemy, it doesn't. It just reduces resists. Is this intended, or something i should find a way to fix?

Not sure why it's being flagged. I haven't touched thr document in over 2 years.

I'm not sure how it being a hydro school would effect scaling if it does air damage. Being labeled as a hydro skill should only effect sorting in menus from vendors, skill tab, etc as far as I'm aware. The air damage should still correctly scale from aerotheurge. (For example Medusa head in poly scales off of geo just fine.) This is all base game functionality that isn't easy to modify without an insane amount of coding.

Unfortunately I cannot make changes to this anymore. I lost the code in a computer crash. Larian did not make it easy to import files into the editor from folders, particularly for the skills.

@squishysquidmonkey any chance to fix the skill types. all the aerothurge skill books are being considered hydro skills. this leads them some issues with scaling and interactions with air damage.

@Linxus mod is really neat and nice to play with, just prefferably play on tactician + difficulty mod - atleast i find it the best way to experience it. This class is deffinitely mainly focusing on DPS. Visual effects are beautiful and it makes you feel like you are playing a character who does indeed control storms. Another interesting way to play it is combining it with Feenex or Helaene mods together and cherry picking skills making your own unique playstyle

This mod looks awesome, but has anyone used it recently after the tweaks? Thoughts after the adjustments?
