Easiest method: Buy USB-MIDI Cable
  • Buy cable
  • Insert cable
  • Use MIDI Link in-game
  • Rock on!
Almost as easy method: Use the original dongle
  • Connect the keytar with the usb dongle to your computer
  • Download this[www.tobias-erichsen.de]
  • Install and open loopMIDI
  • Click the + in the lower left corner
  • loopMIDI should look like this now. (Of course you can name your port if you want)

  • Download this[github.com]
  • Unzip it somewhere where you can find it
  • Open rb3_driver.exe
  • Choose the loopMIDI port

  • Use MIDI Link option in-game and choose your loopMIDI port and Generic MIDI Piano
  • Rock on!

I found a fix for my problem. The "1" and "B" buttons on the Keytar move the octaves.

I'm using a Wii Keytar like you and I am able to midi link successfully. However, it seems like the keys on my Keytar are mapped an octave too high from the keys on screen (thus restricting me access to half of the keys) IE in the beginning of the map "The Foreigner - Cold as Ice," my left-most C key on the Keytar is mapped to the right-most C key on screen. I can't access any octave lower than that aforementioned C key as there's no keys to press on the Keytar and I can't access any of the keys an octave higher because those keys on the keytar are mapped an octave lower. Any chance you know what's wrong? Thanks in advance.

Maybe? You have to test it yourself, I only have Wii keytar.
